Hello, I have a Sony KDS-55A2000 and it works fine for a couple of minutes and then it switches off and the green power led starts blinking for about a minute and then the picture comes back and works fine again for a couple of minutes. PLEASE HELP!
First thought would be the lamp may be about to fail if it has not been replaced in a long time---a warning will be the picture is a bit darker than before and takes longer to get bright than it once did.

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea

I too have a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 tv and the issue that you are experiencing is due to one of your fans in the rear of the tv is not working. The tv automatically shuts off in protective mode. Make sure the POWER/STANDBY light is blinking and not the lamp light below it. Is the power/standby blinking 4 times in red? If, yes then its a fan that needs to be replaced. If its the lamp light blinking then you need to replace the lamp. The lamp is easy to replace by ordering the lamp either from Sony for $250 or find it cheaper for approx. $150 from other DLP sources and replace youself by following your manual. 3 times blink error code shows Lamp Door is not seated / fixed properly, please recheck it and make sure that door close safety switch is pressed as this switch sends error signal to system control chip.
