Question about Motorola Walkie Talkie 2-Way Radio

Motorola Walkie-Talkie will not turn on.

One of the walkie-talkies turns on fine, but the other will not. I have checked the batteries and they are fully charged. An orange light on the top of the walkie-talkie faintly glows when the battery is in, but when I turn on the walkie-talkie, the screen does not turn on. Could there be any water damage or is it locked somehow?

The problem seems to have cleared up itself. Thank you.

It is hard to give you an answear without loking at the radio. What type of Motorola radio is it and have you dropped it in water at any time?

The same thing happened to me, all you have to do is put it on charge for 20 mins, then take it out, keep on pressing the on button, leave again for 5 mins and then click the on button and it should turn on. It just needs a boot or a jumpstart if you have not used it for a long time like me :) Hope this helps

I had the same problem. I discovered the batteries were charged. For some reason though you have to open the back, remove the battery for a few seconds and then reinstall it. They work fine then.

Unfortunately problems involving electronics don't fix them self. If the radio did not work and then it worked after a day or two then it is quite possible that you did have water in the radio. if this is the case. then you will probaly have more problems in the short future as the contaminants from the water start to destroy the board. In this case the best thing to do is open the radio and use an electronics parts cleaner like the tuner cleaner from radio shack and clean the board. Trust me, I have had many customers that have ignored the problem and it cost them later.

Good Luck

I have k7gfv700 Motorola walkie talkies w/ charger. The charge seems to work, but the lighs one the charge are red and the talkie do not charge. Do I need new batteries and where can I purchase the

You might try http://wirelesspro.com, we have found them to carry most TalkAbout accessories and batteries. Before ordering battery packs, you might try switching your existing good battery to the other radio and see if it solves the problem. This would assure you that it is indeed a battery problem.

When i try To walkie-talkie it wont work

They do not have signal to receive the walkie talkie service. Try texting them and telling them to get in an area where they can get better service. Walkie Talkie coverage is very spotty.

Is kenwood walkie talkie and motorola walkie talkie on the same frequence

If you are talking about FRS radios, the answer would be yes. If you are talking about business radios, it depends on how they were programmed. Business radios have many frequencies available.
