very annoying message i agree - most likely caused by toner dust.

The printer uses a carousel to rotate the toner cartridges. Dust and toner can easily spill as the cartridges rotate. The error can appear at any time but seems to be most annoying after a paper jam or other error. It is also important to make sure that the cartridges themselves are clear of toner dust. Pay particulair attention to any copper contacts on the cartridge.

make sure your cartridge is not stuck and pushed in all the way in printer. If it gets struck it will dump ink out and waste it.

Most all replaceable parts on MagiColor printers are literally scheduled to be replaced after a certain number of pages printed using them. Officially, this is to ensure print quality remains sufficient. Unofficially, it's just another way to **** money from your wallet.

That being said, there is likely a fuse somewhere on the OPC drum unit that, when replaced, will reset the page count for that unit. Once the page count is reset, the fuse is blown, and counting resumes.

Examine the unit for large, silver, metal contacts. The fuse will be underneath those (or very nearby). Either replace the fuse or temporarily short the contacts. If you short the contacts, turn the printer on, verify the printer "thinks" the drum unit has been replaced, turn back off, and remove the short circuit.

Switch Printer Off

Open Front Door Cover

Remove Waste Toner Box

Lift Transfer Belts Blue Knob until it's placed at 11 o'clock. (it's directly behind the waste toner box)

The OPC DRUM UNIT is directly under the BLUE KNOB

SQUEEZE HANDLE and PULL OUT the OPC UNIT

Be VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH THE GREEN COLOURED ROLLER on the OPC DRUM UNIT.

Replace new OPC DRUM and turn BLUE KNOB of TRANSFER BELT back to 7 o'clock position

Replace Waste Toner Box, Close Front Cover and Switch On.

Status Display will show OPC Drum at 100%

(You can also replace the fuse in the OPC DRUM UNIT and save yourself HUNDREDS on a new one)
I posted this on another solve problem previously, worth looking at.

Replace the fuse on the bottom of the drum cartridge.

remove PC drum and under that you can see laser glass, clean it and reinstall.

OPC is organic photo conductor. Not sure what that means but apparently we need it to be able to print stuff. Yours has run out and you need to buy a new one. Should be about £100 apparently. But I'm having trouble finding anywhere that sells them, most people just seem to sell toner cartridges. The part number is 1710591-001 if that helps. Unfortunately I haven't worked out how to fit it either. Sorry. Good luck! (I hate this printer...)

If you have changed the OPC drum and cleaned the entire insides of the printer after taking out the toner cartidges and OPC drum.You need a tech to look at it. The fuser is probably messed up from loose toner.
