we just moved into a condo that has a simon system. we do not have an access code. the alarm went off in the middle of the night for about 45 seconds and then quit. it went off again about an hour later for about 15 seconds. what do we do?
If the system is defaulted you should be able to flip the front of the cover down then enter 4321. If it worked you will hear PLEASE SELECT START MENU. If it did then you enter ADD Then Access Code Until it says MASTER CODE then enter DONE then press 4 digit code then enter DONE again Then Close cover. If you don't have a home line or system has troubles or lo batteries it will beep reguarless of codes on the sytem. You can press disarm then 4 digit code. Normanly if there is a problem the STATUS light stays lit even with all devices closed or not tripped. To disable beeps you flip down cover then enter 4321 then DELETE then OPTION then Look To your bottom right there should be a 2 digit code that says panal beeps press those 2 digits then DONE. If you could get the system to say select menu then NONE OF THIS WILL WORK.
Mike,
Unfortunately, without a code, there is not much you can do besides disconnecting the system. Do you own or rent? If you rent, call the landlord, he has to fix it immediately, as going off in the middle of the night and disturbing your rest is not acceptable. If you own it, find the main control box, which is most likely in a closet somewhere, and disconnect the 110AC and back-up battery. If you want the system to function, you will most likely need to call a local alarm company. Stay away from the large nationals, service tends to be poor. Find a local company, they depend on the individual customer to stay in business and you will get much better service.
Hope this helps.

I have had a working GE Simon 3 for a couple of years. After a recent house remodel, I noticed that the alarm speaker on the panel has been disconnected from the circuit board. There are two possible pairs of pins on the board that the speaker could connect to. When looking at opened panel, there is a pair of pins at roughly 11 o'clock from the speaker, and a pair at roughly 10 o'clock from the speaker. Which of these should I connect the speaker to? Thanks.

My new GE Simon is programmed and ready to go but even though it says doors and windows are armed. Nothing happens when I open the doors and windows in armed mode. No sound, no alarm. I know the sound works becuase when I try to access the panel without an access code it trps the alarm. Also, key chain fobs fail after a few hours. They work fine then lose the code. Batteries have been replaced.
