Question about HP LaserJet 5L Printer

Printer only prints half a page

When I try to print a simple 16pt font document, it will only print about the first 3/4 or so of the page (it varies) but it will not print out the whole page. The last half of the page would be little lines and garbles stuff.

If I split this same page in half, then it will print just fine.

It seems sort of like a memory problem, but I have never had this problem before, and it does have 1MB memory, but it is a very very simple text document.

I am running Windows XP media center edition. HELP! Just 2 days ago printer sttarted printing oinmly half or less of page. Printer is Lexmark X 3350.

I guess you would have to reinstall the whole software and see
whether it works or not

You could also try to hard reset the printer.
(taking it out of the power supply for close to 10-20 min)

It is the problem with the software and also the page settings. This issue can also occur due to the corrupted registry.
How ever the best way to resolve the issue is

1. Uninstall the software completely.
2. restart the computer
3. delete the temporary files
4. reinstall the software

Also make sure that your cartridge is full.Perform a hard reset after you try the first method.
To do a hard reset unplug all the cords of your printer for 10min and then plug them back in.Now turn on your printer.

    This should fix the issue.

Also reinstall the printer drivers. To uninstall the printer driver go to Start>Control Panel>Add/remove programs and select the name of your printer and click on uninstall.Restart your printer and reinstall the printer software again.

I print out 1 single document of bar code , but the printer wont stop

The print job is not formatting properly for your printer. It keeps corrupting and will cause the printer to spit out multiple pages with either gibberish or unusual fonts of varying size. You may need to recheck the software you've written the bar codes and make sure your using the correct code 39 font to create your barcodes.

Lexmark printer not dispensing ink

First, make sure you are using genuine Lexmark cartridges.

Second, try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

If the firmware update doesn't help, please perform a maintenance on the cartridges. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

If it still doesn't help, please contact our technical support team.

My PIXMA MP560 is only printing the first line of doc, or blank page, when I try to print a MS Word doc from my mac. I am running OS 10.6.6.

Hi Brenan
Is it the same with a TextEdit document or a web page?
It could be something as simple as a font error. I have been to quite a few macs where one particular font (generally brought over if the new mac has been migrated to from an older mac) will not print on an MP560 (a great printer by the way) Try changing the font to Arial and then see what happens.

I have a photosmart 4650...when I print from a web page, the print is so small I cant read it. How do I change the font size?

Best Answer -
That entirely depends on what you are printing. A printerwill only produce what it is given.

If you are printing your own document then you change the font in the documentbefore printing or select the font before you start.

However I suspect the reason you are asking this is because you are printing apdf document from the internet. In which case the font is fixed.

If so, then you will have to copy and paste the document in to a word processorlike Word, highlight it all and the increase the font. You will then have toreformat the whole document as the increased font will throw the orginalformatting all out of line.

When you have straightened it all up then print it off.
ALTERNATIVELY, if you are printing on ordinary web page then you need to follow the below instruction
Instructions
1. 1 Go to theweb page that you want to print and right-click it. Click "PrintPreview." If you want to print part of the page, highlight the contentthat you want to print and right-click the selection. Click "PrintPreview." 2. 2 Click the "Page Setup" icon located onthe top of the Print Preview window to launch the Page Setup dialog box. Click"Change Font." 3. 3 Select the font you want to use in the"Size" window. If you want to change the font type, make yourselection in the "Font" window. Click "OK" to save thechanges and click "OK" again. 4. 4 Turn on your printer if it is not on. Click the"Print" icon on the Print Preview window to print your web page.

The green light is blinking and only half a page (top half) will print.

Hi
It implies that the printer is busy printing.Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing.

Check by powering off the printer and remove the cable connection from the printer to Computer and turn on the printer.

check by reconnecting the cables

Prints 3 pages for every one

You may have an extra page in your word processing program.
Try using the print preview option to see if you have for eg 2 pages in what you think is a 1 page document.

Also, it might be a glitch in your printer software driver, so uninstall the driver and re-install.

Everytime that I try to print a document, I am getting a lot of boxes. I am not getting the words printed that I need.

Hi Goody2Shoes6, what a great nickname!

If the boxes are a rectangle for every letter, try changing the font, especially if the printer is an old model and the font is recent, if it does it for every font, type up a letter (or type =rand(3) in word and it will put some blurb up for you) then press the Alt key at same time Print Scrn key. Then open paint and go to edit menu / paste. go File Print preferences and set the page to 1 by 1 pages, File / Print preview, if good Print.

The printer should print it, as it is taking it as a picture file, if that same font won't print straight from word (and gives you little squares) it means the printer doesn't have that font listed in it's memory

If it is the case, buy a new printer, or use an older font that works.

:-)

Are you printing from MS Word? What software package are you using? Each printer is different and some require software settings.
