Question about ViewSonic VPW425 42 in. Plasma HDTV

Device Codes Hi. I have Bell ExpressVU here in Canada. I can't get the remote to control the TV no matter what device code I use from the list I have. Perhaps others have had the same problem. Frustrating, to say the least. Thanks

Thanks. In the list provided, Viewsonic TV isn't even listed. Frustrating as it is, guess I'll just have to resign myself to using 2 remotes. One thing, next TV I buy, I'll make sure this isn't a issue before I take it out of the store........

Programming an Expressvu remote control can be frustrating. There are two basic ways of doing in it. The first one involves knowing both your TV brand name and also knowing the proper code to input in your remote. The second method is doing an automatic search. The following is a step by step procedure in how to program your dish network or Expressvu remote.

1)Make sure your TV and Satellite Receiver is ON.
2)Press and hold TV button until all lights on the side of it flashes. The TV button is the second button on the Top left hand side corner of the remote control.
3) Release that button, then press & release RED Button. You will notice TV button is stays on. If, it doesn't stay ON, you must repeat step 2 & 3. Otherwise, your batteries are low, you MUST change then.
4)Press and release the UP Arrow Key on the remote until TV turns off. Notice the UP arrow key button is the button below the volume keys (Stop button for VCR.)
5)Make sure you are aiming remote control to TV while pressing and releasing UP arrow key button. When you find the right code, the TV will turn OFF.
6) Immediately after, TV turns off, press # key.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

What code to use for my oneforall 3605 remote with my bell expressvu 3100 receiver

If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the "device's brand name list" in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts.

http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Search the site by type in the brand name to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to see the set-up codes to your device, with different brand remote controls.
Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

I wander if I can get the code for a TV Hisense to put the code on the remote Bell... Thank You.

If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

Bell expressvu

Just try a code search method. Refer the remote control's manual for details. If it too doesn't help you, there is no other way than buying an other remote control, which have setup codes to your device, in its code list.
If you wish to buy its original remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have setup code to your TV/device brand. You should first make sure about the number of digits in the codes to your device have. There are 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit and even 2-digit codes. You can get this detail by the code list attached to every universal remote control. The brand name of the remote control you select isn't a matter; but, its code list should have setup codes to your TV/device brand, otherwise you can't set it up with your device. Check this link and note which brand remote control have set-up codes to your device brand, and buy that brand remote control, according to availability. I want to program a Dish Network remote to run my Bell ExpressVu receiver.

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. While looking through all of our remote codes I unfortunately did not find any codes for a Bell ExpressVu receiver. What you can try is running a power scan on your DISH remote which basically can sometimes find the code for you. I will list here for you the instructions for running a power scan after this post. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email me at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com. :)

Instructions for a power scan
  1. With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button (i.e. SAT, AUX, TV, VCR) until all mode button back lights illuminate, then release.
  2. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressing and releasing the Power button
    • Press 0 for a TV
    • Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
    • Press 2 for any other device.
    Then Press STAR (*)
  3. Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. Note: If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
  4. As soon as the desired equipment turns off Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

Without the code on JER-323:

2. Press the device button, example:( TV) and the (power button) for 3 seconds until the (on/off button stays lit).
3. Once the (on/off) button is lit, press the (on/off) button until the unit (the TV or unit you are trying to control.) turns off.
4. When the code is located, press the (stop) button at the bottom to save the code.
Here are some codes I found for the Jensen 323:
