Do you mean your PC is not recognizing your flash drive? Your USB port might be the problem. Try using a different USB port to see if it works.

Did the drive crash? Is the computer not recognizing the drive? If so your files are gone unless you want to spend over a grand trying to get them retrieved.

If the computer recognizes the drive but you don't see your files, then a virus has just hidden the files. They are there and retrievable, just hidden.

You can boot it up with Tenorshare Data Recovery WinPE.It allows users to burn ISO file to CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive and boot up Operating System from bootable CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive directly. You can use it to retrieve data under any boot up problem.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverywinpe.htm

I can't find the files I stored on a Nexxtech flash drive. Windows explorer doesn't show any files on the removable disk but it shows that 2 gbs of file storage is used. I checked the drive for problems...

If i am right, your Flash is infected by virus and so files or folders are hidden, to unhide the hidden files and folders, you need to do a little trick or simple as the settings. Here we go.. Insert the flash drive - Open it in Windows Explorer - Click on the Tools on the Menu - Select Folder options - Click on the View Tab - next scroll down and select the Show Hidden Files - and again just below the show hidden files, you will see another option which is checked Hide Protected Operating Files, uncheck it and click yes. Hope this will help you, if you can follow this tip, please refer to my tip Show Hidden Files and Folder_1. Good luck..

When i plug in sony 2gb flash drive there is a messege please insert a disk into drive E

This either means you PC cannot "Se" your drive, OR it hasn't been used in that PC before, and it needs to be Formatted, FAT32, before it can be "Seen" and used. If it has been used on that PC before but NOW it cannot "See" it try the fix below.
1. Go to Start>> Right click My Computer>> Manage>> Device Manager 2. Expand the USB Controller section 3. Right click and Uninstall all of the listed USB devices 4. Reboot the system

HDD making clicking noise/will not boot into windows

the clicking noise will be the platelettes or the head trying to park inside the hardrive. there isn't a lot you can do ;if you can no longer boot into windows, the hard drive will need replacing and you may not be able to see anything from it unless you have a usb to ide cable adapter to view any files. You may be able to retrieve your important documents from it by fitting the drive as a slave drive after you have installed the new one as a master.
