SOURCE: SVA HD4208 42INCH Plasma will not turn on.

I called the factory or the distributor or wholesaler (customer service) that comes out on the web and they told to just buy a new remote cuz tv just isn't recognizing the remote. Can this be true? If this is far from being true, where do I buy the boards and what are the chances that the boards are the real problem?
thanks once again.

Wehave identified a common problems with theses sets manufactured by,SVA, Gateway, Viewsonic, Sampo and a few other brands. They all have aSamsung power supply board (LJ44-00025A), which has cause these unitsto lose power. There is a easy fix, replace the power board. But youask why should we? That's the right question. If these boards all havethe ability to fail with various parts and within various displays. This has to be a defective part. As of now, there is no recall on thispart. Therefore, we are generating a list of customers, who own thesedisplays and are requesting a refund for previously purchased parts ora replacement part at no cost to the customer. We are in the prelimary stages, so please be patient with our efforts.

Ifhave indentified your unit is salvage by an power issue an wish topurchase the indentified part (LJ44-00025A, we recommend you purchasefrom

I fixed Mine ($30 pdp on ebay lol) 4 $8 bucks it turned out to be a bad smd diode(1Amp) and a shorted scr (I replaced with nte5406) by the red error led I'd suggest to look 4 shorted diodes not ones by transformers but the more isolated circuits. also a few bad samwha caps that read high voltage potential (hypot) between gnd and the body of the capacitor (although not uncommon but I replaced them it Just in case) shock hazard. IMO its is a poorly designed power supply that needs some retrace jumpers to correct some of the flaws and even afterwords still some bias noise in picture but its expected in such an old tv.

You wont want to hear this.....

Green dots on a LCD screen are burnt out pixels and unfortunately are incurable other than having the TV serviced at a high price. One of the reasons it is a good idea to get a warranty on these types of TVs is primarily due to this very problem....burnt out pixels.

Stays in standbye and will only flash green (power on) twice before staying in standbye

The 6 inverter transformers on the bottom of the picture is the problem and what need to be tested.
Unplug the 6 wires that goes to the LCD screen. Use a multimeter to test for resistance from each output plug on the board. The one without the resistance is the bad one.
If this doesn't locate the bad one this way, Each plug should give out DC voltage if working properly. Test each plug for voltage.
The TV will automatically turn off in a couple of seconds like before. You'll have to keep pushing the power button to test each output plug for voltage.

Soon as you find the bad Inverter Transformer, just solder in a new one and the TV should work fine after that.
The part # for the Inverter Transformer is LTZ2PC0MS008.
Here's two places to get them:

My flatscreen emerson tv will not turn back on.

I found a way around this problem. When this happens, don't use the remote.

Walk up to the TV, then HOLD DOWN the power button and while the lights are flashing, start pushing the menu button on the TV at the SAME TIME.

Then your screen will turn on. No idea why this works. Just stumbled on it while getting ********** that this TV, I had less than a month, suddely would not come on anymore. I was about to unplug the whole thing to take back to WalMart and just started pushing button combinations and found this worked.

I have a sva vr-30 that wont turn on no red or green lights

If you don't have a standby light and if the unit does not even make any clicking sounds or try to come on at all then you have a bad power supply that will need replaced.

TV will not turn on.

the power supply / board is shot and needs to be replaced. You can find them cheaper online, have it shipped to you and then find a local tech to replace it cheaply.
