Problem for Toshiba SD-P1400 Portable DVD Player with Screen

I have the same problem describe by others where the DVD player just makes the noise to read the disc but can not read it. It will eventually say, no disc. Tried putting in several other known working disc with same results. Looked inside and cleaned the laser with no luck. I moved the laser mechanism back and forth to see if this was jammed but it was not. Seems like it's on a belt system. What can be done from here and what can I expect to pay for someone to debug the device?

- Player was working fine, then all of a sudden it didn't. I get a disc error reading on discs that work on my other standard player. If the lens is bad, how and where do I take it to get a new lens installed. Took it back to Best Buy, but they claimed they could not repair it. Said their computer listed it as "unrepairable".
