Hi.

Your model has A clutch fitted so it will have 2 belts one from motor to clutch second from brush roller to clutch.

You will be told that you cant replace both belts & you can only replace the clutch to motor belt.

This is rubbish both belts can be replaced.
You will need to strip some of the machine down in order to remove the clutch & replace one or both belts.

No special tools are required except for the screwdriver which is torx T15.

Manuals on stripping the Dc07 are available from here http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/

Yes you must take it somewhere to get service or see if you can purchase a clutch assembly to replace. It is a moderate task but I am willing to help.

New belt seems to be too short cant get it on

Is this the belt for the "Power Nozzle"? If so, once you have the bottom plate removed to get at the roller brush. You will be able to carefully pull/pry the roller out. It is one piece with bearing/bushings one each end. They are friction fit (held in by friction - no screws, glue or other fasteners). Remove the roller straight out, slip the belt over the roller and carefully put the roller back in. If it still won't fit, you might want to ensure you have the proper replacement belt.

Revolving brush is not turning

The belt is broken.Turn the vacuum so you are looking at the brush. That palte needs to come off. Some screw and some just pop on and off. When you have the plate off lift the brush out.The belt fits in a groove on the brush. The other end of the belt fits on a small wheel about 6 inches behind the brush.Put the new belt on and replace the plate.

The brush roller stops turning and I can smell the belt burning, then it will catch and start working normal. I looked under the plate to check the belts and they looked okay and no hang ups of string or...

better to replace both belts the smaller one is stretched out thats whyits slipping ,be sure to clean the old rubber off the motor shaft before replacing the belts.it will cause the new belts to run unevevly and go bad before their time

Unable to replace belt

On most machines you have to remove the bottom plate to replace the belt. Simply remove the screws, take out the old belt, put the new one around the motor shaft, then around the brush roll and stretch into place.

Need belt for Everstar 5990 vacuum cleaner

I just replaced the belt on my Everstar VC-9550 and it works fine. I found it at Home Depot for $3.99. The belt is sold under Vac Belts item No. 51007 (Designed to fit Bissell Uprights, Style 7,9,10).

Trying to fix new belt to Hoover Turbo Power vacuum cleaner. Don't see how the belt becomes taut. Fitting it around the roller, there is nowhere to fit the belt to, it just sits loose.

I looked at the user instructions guide online and saw where the 'other end' of the belt should be fitted. It was extremely hard to fit but eventually managed it. Thanks for this solution site. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

Yes, that is the correct belt. The full part number should be 38528040. This is the correct belt and should fit your U5509/U5507.

Roller brush won't spin (bissel 6390/3910 series)

I just fixed mine. It took me all of 10 minutes. Pull the brush out. Stand the brush on end on the edge of your study work bench/table top. while holding the brush vertical( on end) take a small phillips screwdriver and tap using a hammer on the metal pin you see in the middle of the brush. Keep tamping and the whole assembly will come apart. What you will have then is a long metal shaft, 2 bearings(they are acutally skateboard wheel bearings same number same make). Clean the gobbed up hair with a razor blade and then reassemble by tapping back together. The bearing wont be worn out because they are way too tough for a vaccum. We used ride down hills on them! a ten minute fix wow and you wont have to drive to vacuum shop and spend $$ and time
