The router must be connected properly to the pc and set up to function properly first. Usually the pc is plugged into port 1 while the internet connection is plugged into the main "Green" labeled port which is spaced further away than the other 4 ports. If that's done properly then you have a few software issues depending on the ISP he is using. For instance, Road Runner doesn't really care what you use, however Yahoo DSL has issues that must be configured to make the modem communicate properly with the router. Does he see the wireless network with his laptop? Is he using 2 pc's, one hard wired to router and a laptop or just the laptop? If he's using just a laptop then you have a specific setup procedure that must be followed, contact the mfg of the modem, belkin's usually pretty good with walking you through the setup.

Right hand side park light and rear tail light not working- fuse?

As Glenn said, it could just be globes. Strange though how both front and rear have gone out at the same time? Could possibly be a bad connection or broken wire. I doubt if its a fuse. The fuse will protect the entire lighting system. If it blew, then none of the lights would work. try new globes first. If you have a close look at the ones you pull out, you can see the filament which sits across some holders inside the globe, if its flapping around and dangling and one end is free, you know the globe has blown.

I want to know how to remove the globe so I can replace the halogen bulb on my ceiling fan light. It is model Model # acsy0205-1cc .

There are usually 3 hand tighten screws surrounding the opening where it meets the socket portion. With one hand on the bottom of the globe, loosen the screws with the other hand (carefully remove globe)

My ringgrip smartglow 6 hour timer globe which is used infrequently (when I go on holidays) has stopped working (no illumination). As I consider that it has not had a lot of work, the question is, is there...

I have three solutions to help you.

1/ The globe may have been bumped or jarred and the filament may be broken
The filament can be repaired.
Look through the small area of clear glass near the neck of the bulb, using a magnifying glass; and a torch at that area and other areas around the globe
to inspect the filament.
With your eye follow the filament connections very slowly from one end to the other,
until you find the break (if any).
Memorise roughly where it has the break in proportion to some reference on the outside of the globe (felt pen mark).
Then insert the globe into a portable corded fitting (mechanics light).
Holding the fitting in your hand, switch it on.
Move your hand around (so the globe is either upside down, left, right, or diagonal, etc),
gently jarring the globe, remembering the position of the break of the filament, try to cause the filament's broken end to touch the terminal where it originally broke off from (doesn't have to be the exact position of the terminal, but in that area).
With a little patience, you may cause it to touch, and when you do, the light will instantly come on, the filament will be repaired (welded back on), and may even outlast any other part of filament breaking in future.
Now the instant it comes on, don't move your hand for a minute or so, to allow it to properly weld, then switch off, allow it to cool, then remove from portable fitting.

2/ If the problem is not the filament, the electronics can also be repaired.
They are located in the bayonet part of the globe,
and are the second cause of failure.
A skilled technician can access and repair that area
for only $10 grand.

3/ A more economical remedy, however, is to hold the globe upside down
in your hand,
then slowly release it from a twenty storey window.

Hope one of these helps !

How do i get light bulb cover off k9375 ceiling fan

The entire glass globe twists off (counterclockwise looking at the globe from below). It is kind of tricky, but if you apply constant pressure eventually it will begin to turn slowly, and then (1/4-1/2 turn) it will pop right off.

WARNING: I strongly suggest you have another pair of hands to help ensure the globe doesn't come crashing down to the ground, as it's VERY easy to do!

Reverse lights only work sometimes on isuzu wizzard

Manual gearbox: check on right hand side of gearbox. There's an electrical switch(looks like large nut nut) with 2 wires coming out of it These wires have connectors toward the top of the gearbox, diconnect them.
The wires that this switch was connected to, conect them to each other. ie the reverse light switch has been bypassed. Put the vehicle in reverse. Turn on the ignition. DO NOT START. Check the reverse lights. If on the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced. If not measure the voltage across each of the wires and a good earth point. (Gearbox casing will do fine. ) One of the wires should read < 12V.
If 12V then
  • Globes are faulty(Replace)
  • wiring to the globes are faulty - unlikely -(This can be repaired by simply running a new wire to the globes)
If no 12V then the wiring to the fusebox is faulty. A quick fix is to run a new wire from the fusebox to the switch(Connect to fuse C-3, indicated as "turn, back")

Hi I have just purchased a 98 Honda Civic 3door hatch. All the lighting system works except for the rear brake lighs?? are they a combined tail/stop light in this vehicle? there is a fog/stop light at the...

You should be able to match the bulbs with the one you took out.
Most of them have the rating written on the base of the globe.

Get a little test lamp to check the power on the contacts where the bulb goes in.
They look a bit like a screw driver with a point and a globe inside the handle.

This will tell you if you have power in the socket.

You could also get a cheap multi meter. They normally have a Ohm function which you can use to tell if the filament in the globe is blown. You could also test if you have voltage at the globe socket.

Hope this Helps.
