How do I connect this system together to get it to work?

The manual for the amplifier and all the other units are here. Use the search feature in the top right with just the model number 'AT-5210'. Getting the items in the right order helps. The turntable obviously goes on top. The Amplifier goes in the middle and all the other units connect to the amp.

Want to buy earphones. What connection on the lead is needed to connect to system?

You may need to use an adapter to connect the mini stereo plug if the front panel PHONES connector is standard size.

Sony MHC-S3 Mini Hi-Fi component system

Correct the laser is not reading the disk. Cleaning won't help. Usually not worth getting repaired as a similar new unit will cost about the same!

The 3.5mm audio plug broke off on my Beyerdynamic headphones. I need to replace the plug. There are four conductors but I don't know what type of plug to buy (4-pin?) or what the pinout is.

Two of the wires are ground (-) and two are hot/signal (+). You'll need a stereo 3.5mm mini plug (try your local RS...they also call them 1/8" plugs). The stereo plug will be divided into three separate connections called Tip, Ring and Sleeve. The Tip is right channel signal, the Ring is left channel signal and the two grounds should be connected to the Sleeve or ground connection.

If you get one side of your headphones backward (out of phase, plus and minus backwards) you'll know by the sound quality and so reverse the wires of only one side to correct.

I have a mini hi-fi system RV-60 (sony make). There is some problem in my system. Any CD is not working in my system. So, kindly detail me about optical lense number, prices $ technical specification.

When I was working on stereos in the late 90's,the lenses were going for about $60.As for now I would guess maybe $75,$80 tops.It may be less,but I estimate a little higher so you aren't surprised at least.However,repair centers usually have a minimum parts price markup of 20%,some even more.So $80 turns into $96.Then shipping and labor.I am including a link to where I used to work.Call consumer electronics,ask them for an estimate cost on a CD laser eye for your model Sony,they should be able to give you a fairly accurate number.If they don't,or if you have some where you are,call them and ask them the same thing.Someone will give a free estimate to attract business.Normal procedure is,once you send it in,they determine what it needs,they call you with a price,and you say yes or no.That goes for just about any shop.Good luck! Can i get a new laser as very intermitent disc loading for nad l70

Have you tried blowing the disc cavity out with compressed air? Manufacturers don't technically make the laser eye assembly removable by the consumer. Try the compressed air or a cd lens cleaning kit first before making any decisions about repair or buying something new.

SR573... Does it support NTSC/PAL?.

There's no mention of either NTSC or PAL in any spec sheet.

This link leads to Onkyo and the rear view of the amp lacks the voltage selector.

The manual for the similar model SR575 says the North American model does not have the voltage selector. Too bad. Under the general specs for the variants of this family of receivers they list the following power specs. I have no idea where you have to go to buy one from the "Others" group.

Power Supply North American: AC 120 V, 60 Hz
European: AC 230 V, 50 Hz
Others: AC 120/220-240 V, 50/60 Hz
AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz

Some aliases for the SR575=

You could do what I did over 30 years ago. Join the Army, go overseas and buy one in the PX. Every HiFi product we bought in the PX in the 70's had the dual voltage feature.

Cd keeps jumping on technics eh750 system

A couple of things you could try:
  • insert a sponge/foam between the bottom of the EH750 and the shelf/table;
  • insert a sponge/foam between the bottom of the speakers and the shelf/table;
  • relocate the speaker;
  • lower the bass;
  • clean the laser lens/eye.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a nearly 30-year old Akai stereo receiver AA-R30. Power light just stopped turning on. Opened up case and found main fuse between AC power cord and power transformer blown. When I replace the fuse,...

Look for shorted output transistors or possibly shorted rectifier diodes. An immediate fuse blowing up usually means that the power supply is the problem. Keep us posted.
