How do i attatch preamp to marantz sr9200 for phono

If you are talking about a phono preamp, take the output rca cables from the turntable, "red and white" plug it into the preamp input, "labled" next take a red and white cable wire male ends, "3 to 6" feet long, and plug the one end in the output of the preamp, "labled" and finally plug the remainder into the AUX input of the Marantz receiver matching the colour codes so the left and right channels don't get mixed up, you now should be good to go.

Marantz sr6001 stanby blinking

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be with your output drivers. Please check for short on the outputs fitted for both the channels. Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise which can be a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation. You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board. Maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias or there is a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the amplifier comes out of the protect mode then check for short on the speakers.

I am thinking of replacing my now very old JVC AX 330 amplifier with a Marantz PM7003 amplifier and want to know if this is a suitable replacement in terms of power output etc.

You, sir, are a rare adherent to stereo-only electronics. Are you replacing it for cause (showing its age)? The PM7003 is only 2 x 70 watts like the JVC but it also has separable preamp/amps so you COULD upgrade or augment the power output with external amps and still control it all locally.

Of course, any current AVR's do that too and bring digital sources and multichannel audio to the mix for as little as the PM7703 may cost.

How can I use my Marantz 4070, Quadro Integrated Amplifier as an amp for guitar, microfons and so on?

you need to buy a small mixer like the 4 channel beringer (about 90 bucks) you would plug its output into the inpur of your Marantz and will then be using it as a power amp. It should work great and the little berringer even has phantom power I believe.

My Marantz sr 4001 receiver has no output. Is

There is no fuses for the speakers. Check setup. If the receiver has 7.1 channel input try to connect a source there so you can check output (amp) section and the speakers.

How to connect subwoofer with two RCA connectors to only two lines red and white, from reciver

Since the low frequencies haven't too much stereo separartion, you can use just the one (doesn't matter which) output you want for your subwoofer. A better solution is to make a small connection with resistors in order to mix the 2 channels, but this solution claims electronic knowledge and it's more complicated. If you can afford it send me an e-mail at

How can I connect a equalizer to a marantz sr7200

The internal equaliser working with digital inputs is already incorporated into the receiver. You can access it through MAIN MENU. An external equaliser, I assume for analog inputs, should be connected between corresponding receiver multichanel (7.1) inputs and the source (ie DVD player's) analog outputs.
The digital output of you source can still be connected directly to the receiver using digital cables.

I have worked exclusivly on marantz recievers, for the last seven years, the loud 'pop' you heard, and smoke, was 90% that one of the amplifier channels, on the amp block, has blown, and consiquently the unit stays in protect mode. It will power up, and decode audio, and even show an f.m. stereo on the tuner, but you won't get the 'happy click' of the protection relays, until the channel is repaired. also replace the 5fd memory capacitor on the front micro board behind the front panel. If you have someone repair the channel, make sure that the tech resolders all of the connections on the molex connectors on the amp block. there are 10 of them, five male and five female, The bad solder on these are what caused the problem in the first place.

Marantz SR 7200

It is likely that the PA stage has developed an offset voltage in the output stage. The faulty amplifier channel can be found by progressively disconnecting the collectors of the of the power transistors until the protection fault disappears. Once the faulty channel is found the the cause of the offset has to be traced to the faulty transistor or resistor. Don't forget that if you can smell smoke or burning then there are likely to be components(esp transistors) that have been damaged by the fault.
I had a Luxman unit that destroyed 5 transistors in the output stage that was due to an open .5W resistor in the driver stage.
Good luck.
