I need extra large desktop icons - Computers & Internet

To help you decrease the size of the icons that appears on the desktop, please follow the steps given below:
-Right click on the desktop and click 'View'.
-Now you will get 3 options as Large icons, Medium icons and Small icons.
-You need to click on 'Small icons'.

try right clicking inside a folder with out clicking on a file and got to view click on view thumbnails (for windows XP)
for windows Vista and seven right click in the folder and go to view and click on small icons medium icons large icons or extra large icons

Right click on desktop,
select Properties,
click settings,
adjust the screen resolution,
click apply,
if not better then try different resolutions until you find the icons are the right size for you and the desktop is the right shape (ie not stretched and not black areas around the edges

Probably need to use file explorer - find folder in windows for the desktop. Open it and you should see icons. Delete extra ones.

Laptops when running in non native resolutions sometimes tend to use a small area, so that the bluring of text is not noticeable. The reason is that laptop text is only sharp in its native resolution, and in your case the possibility is that your native resolution is 1600x1200 (If you can post the exact model or a link with your machine configuration, I can confirm what the native resolution is).

However you can make the icons and text larger, the best way is to and change the font size in windows (display settings) from the normal to large or extra large. This makes all the fonts much larger and easy on the eye, and it also will keep the text large as you are still running it in native solution mode.
