"The port is closed" means that whatever port is being used for connection under your particular application is not receiving or sending communication. This is normal, you may ignore it. Although if it persists, you're having connection issues.

Greetings!
If your computer has windows xp installed, automatically all the port will be detected (usb port, on board mic and speaker terminal etc) If it is a usb port, it has to be set at the cmos, how to detect.
1. re-start you computer that is your computer is running already if not once you turn on your computer press del key or F2 key at your keyboard.
2. you are now at cmos windows scroll by using an arrow keys at your keyboard find the option that has usb then choose enable.
3. press F10 at function key to save the changes.

Can a Dell Dimension 3000 connect to 5.1 surround sound


If your Laptop has a "Latitude C/Port Advanced Port Replicator" Then this Port Replicator connects Dell Latitude notebooks to peripheral devices such as a monitor, printer, keyboard and mouse. To accomplish this, connect your peripheral devices to the Dell port replicator itself, and leave them connected to it. Then connect your notebook to the port replicator to access the devices without having to attach them individually each time you want to use them. You can also set up speakers on the Dell Latitude C/Port port replicator to provide improved quality audio.

Follow following steps:
1) Place your Dell Latitude notebook in your C/Port Advanced Port Replicator and turn on the notebook using the power button.
  • 2) Place the speakers you want to connect to the port replicator on either side of the port replicator according to the Left and Right (L and R) labels on the speakers.

  • 3) Plug the audio line connector from the speakers into the audio line out plug on the port replicator. The audio line out plus is on the right-hand side of the port replicator base next to the infrared port, directly opposite the notebook ejection lever.

  • 4) Plug the power cable from the speakers into a power outlet if needed. Battery-powered speakers will not require this. Turn on the speakers following the manufacturer's instructions.

  • 5) Open your preferred music or audio software (such as Windows Media Player or iTunes) on your Dell Latitude notebook and play an audio file to hear the newly-attached speakers.

    I have a hp pavillion xt966 tower that i want to use but i don't know what connections go where.


    Pretty self explanatory, the only ports that you can mix up is the keyboard and mouse. Its actually marked if you look closely at rear panel.

    Click Start
    Click Control Panel
    Click Classic View
    Click Add/Remove Programs
    Click on EDATS SECURITY (or something approximately that)

    ATI (www.ati.com) distributes the "Catalyst" software with their adapter video-cards. So, there is a problem with the "Control Center" component of their software.

    First, do you have an add-in video-card in your computer?
    If not, then you should not be trying to use the ATI software,
    and you should remove it:
    * click Start
    * click Control Panel
    * click Add/Remove Programs
    * select the ATI Catalyst software
    * click Remove
    * restart your computer

    Second, if you have added an ATI card, you may need to restart your computer, press DELETE to enter BIOS SETUP, and "disable" the "onboard" video-adapter, or change the video-priority so that the ATI video-card becomes the "primary" video-adapter, and the onboard video-adapter becomes the "secondary" video-adapter.
    Then, click Save Changes, and before selecting Exit From Setup,
    move the video data-cable from the onboard VGA port to the VGA port on the ATI video-adapter. Then, "blindly", click Exit, and let your computer restart. Then, during the reboot, the ATI software will recognize the new "primary" video-card, and will the software will control the ATI video-hardware.

    Sometimes, it helps to have a second computer monitor, and connect one adapter to the "onboard" VGA-port, and the other to the ATI VGA-port, so that you can see video output wherever it is produced.

    i think your both side of cover are open that's some error comes to u first u can see that the both side of cover are open than u close properly and than after u can see your problem solve. because in hp com the problem comes...ok u can see the both side of cover

    I cant open youtube


    Go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall> Exceptions> Click on add port.
    Call it port 80.
    In port number type in 80.
    Then click on OK.
    Then close all the windows.

    Basically on the computer that is running apache (Server), YouTube is unblocking the port called 80. On some systems mainly XP home we found that port 80 was always blocked. Even though localhost worked, computers connecting to it would get an connection error. Also, if you have a 3rd party firewall, you have to unblock YouTube.     I am at step 4 or installation and the message reads your ethernet cable does not appear to be connected properly. I have checked all cables and they are inserted properly.


    check if a cable is connected well the light will blink on the ethernet port. After that you cant see the whether the cable is connected just go to the My Network places(if you are using the microsoft windows) and goto network connections and local arear connections, right click it,and go to properties , now you can see the select button with message like (show icon in taskbar when connected ) just select it apply all the setting which is changed and close it reconnect the cable now you can see the message when is cable is connected

    NIC too close to USB port?


    Hi Antatg,
    Go into your bios and make sure all your USB option are enabled, specially Enable USB for legacy devices, and check to make sure you NIC is enables. Hope that helps!
