Cracked Screen for a Panasonic DMC-TZ4

Bought the camera less than 6 months ago, and the wife accidentally dropped it last night and the screen is now cracked, cannot see any image on the screen.. Do you know how/where I can get a replacement screen? Can I replace the screen or do I have to sent the camera off somewhere to get it repaired??

I know this is a late response but I recently ran into the same problem and I bought a replacement display off of ebay. I purchased the display through D&H Cameras. It was around $55.00.

A new camera will cost you around $150. The screen and labor will probably cost more than half that. Replacing the screen is quite intricate and can be verily easily messed up. A new camera with a protective case and wrist strap is your best bet. I also learned the hard way.

Not worth replacing screen, due to labor cost so if camera works, it can still be used for snapping up shots if set on automatic and can be connected to monitor source e.g. gps monitor, portable TV,etc to view pics or change settings. Can try selling cheaply online and use money for new camera.

I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ4 camera. I am on vacation and my settings got changed. I do not have the manuel with me. My flash won't work for indoor pictures and I do not know how to change the settings. Help

One of the buttons on the back has a lightning bolt icon. In picture taking mode, press the button and watch the screen....it will cycle through auto flash, red-eye flash, flash off, etc.

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens problems.

Water damage - screen asking to turn off camera

Hi!
The lens should be taken apart and cleaned. It could be a focus problem. In the worst case it could be a bad lens driver IC. It's a hardware fault not software so you should give it to a repair shop or Panasonic service center.

Sorry for the bad news.
