Connected to internet but cannot browse.

I have huweai MT841 Modem and a Netgear WGR614 Wifi router for my laptop. Each time when i connect to internet i need to login in 198.162.1.1 with goes to netgear configuration page and i have to click on the test button which will then connect to internet , after this procedure i can normally browse. but when i have switched off all the power supply and turned back it on. my modem is connected to internet (green light constantly glows) and my nergear router is not connected to internet (but green internet light blinks On) . so, i have to restart the procedures again by loging to netgear config page and  clicking on test button which will conncet to my internet.
my huweai MT841 Modem configuration is auto login Broadband Connection.
Any help is greatly thank full.

How to Set Up a Netgear WGR614 V5 Wireless Router
Netgear routers--like all wireless routers--give you the opportunity to access the Internet with your laptop or wireless-adapted computer from virtually anywhere in your house within range of the router's WiFi signal. Though slightly different in appearance from other router models by Netgear, the WGR614 V5 acts similar in its setup process as others such as the WGT624 or WNR1000 series routers.
Things You'll Need:
Netgear WGR615 V5 routerNetgear resource CDEthernet wireBlue network wireModemComputer
1 Prepare to install the Netgear router. Log off and shut down your computer system. Turn your Internet modem off and/or disconnect its power supply from the electrical outlet. Take out the contents of the Netgear router box and verify that all the essentials are present: the resource CD, the yellow wire and the router itself.
2 Connect the Internet modem to the Netgear WGR614 v5 router. Locate the yellow Ethernet wire running from one end of the Internet modem to the computer's Ethernet port. Unhook the computer-end of the Ethernet wire and insert this end into the port on the router labeled "Internet." After inserting, confirm that the wire runs from the modem to the router.
3 Connect the Netgear router to the computer. Grab the blue cable supplied with the router. Securely insert one end of the blue cable into one of the four "LAN" ports on the router (the "LAN" ports are labeled with numbers from 1 to 4). Insert the other end of the blue wire into your computer's Ethernet port.
4 Start your network devices. Turn on or connect your Internet modem to an electrical outlet. Wait for at least two minutes to allow the modem to fully boot. Plug the Netgear router into the wall or electrical outlet as well, and wait one to two minutes. Turn on your computer.
5 Look at the Netgear router to verify that all lights are on. The "power," "Internet" and "wireless" icon symbols on the front of the router should be solidly lit. One of the four "LAN" ports should also be lit with either a green or amber color.
6 Insert the resource CD that came with your Netgear router to launch the "welcome" screen. Select "Router Setup" from the menu to begin the "Smart Wizard" setup application. Read and follow the setup steps, including naming your SSID (secure set identifier) or "network name" and setting a level of wireless security. Finish the setup process, ending with the registration of your Netgear router.
7 Verify that your Netgear router has been set up correctly. Open an Internet browser from both the computer that is connected to the router and on a computer that has a wireless card or adapter. Surf to your favorite Internet sites to verify your connection is working. Open your "network connections" utility on your operating system and make sure it shows that you're connected to your own wireless network.

Hello, I dont think you need the drivers for Router. And first of all you need to connect your modem to your router through ethernet cable. And after connecting your modem, configure your wireless router by typing this IP address in internet explorer: 192.168.1.1 The user id is admin and the password is password. Then detect your broadband connection by using the option in the router. Try connecting your Laptop to wifi after setting the connection.

Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

PS3 and Netgear WGR614 V7 Router

Basically the PS3 wireless settings needs to be configures with the Netgear wireless router settings.
To test if the modem is connects to the Internet, connect a computer into the modem, if it works then the modem is configured correctly. If it doesn't work, then contact your ISP and get them to test your modem connection.
For details on how to configure the PS3 click on the WEB link :-

Is this the initial set-up of the network? Sometimes it just needs to be rebooted a few times to connect. The way to reboot the network is to turn off the computers, then unplug the router, next unplug the modem. wait about 30/60 seconds then plug in the power to the modem. Wait for the modem to fully boot. Wait a minute or two, then plug in the power to the router. Wait till it has booted, another minute or two. Once the router is fully booted, then turn on the pc and check to see if it connects. If the computer was previously connected to the modem, before the router was incorporated, it still has the ip address assigned by the modem and has trouble releasing it and getting an ip address from the router.

My wireless router wont connect to my laptop

Connect your Internet (DSL/Cable) modem to your router and power ON them both. Now turn ON your laptop's wifi receiver by either using a hard button, a sliding button or whatever button it is in your laptop's body. OR, maybe your laptop have a key combination to power on your wifi receiver like FN + F10. Make sure the wifi LED lights and there you can use your internet broadcasted by your router.

My Roadrunner Modem works fine when connected to an individual computer. When connected through my netgear modem I cannot get an internet connection on any computer wired directly to the router

does the modem worked fine with ANY computer connected directly to it, or just ONE computer connected to it?

did you have to install a connection program on one of your computers when you first installed the modem?

do you have an account name and password from your internet service provider, which is required to connect?
