You say the evaporator is freezing up? If the defrost timer, defrost heat element or defrost t-stat isn't working then you will not have a defrost cycle. That can cause a freeze up. As for the warm side frige, that could be the fan isn't circulating the cold air to the frige section, the air dampers are not working properly, the air channels themselves are frozen shut so you won't have air "circulation" flow. Can you feel cold air being blown into the frige area with the freezer door closed? If you open the freezer door does the air flow now? Also can remove the back panel cover in the freezer section and look at the evap. coils to see if there is a full even frost pattern on all the coils (is good) or if there is a sudden stop to the frost pattern and bare coils showing (is bad).

Mine exact same model has the same problem. It is caused by a small leak that can't be repaired by the Best buy repair man. The refrigerant slowly releases over time and the compressor works harder and harder and then finally either the refrigerant is gone or the compressor burns up. Best buy knew this when they sold it to me as a "Floor Model", the "BEST BUY" repair man told me that they had repaired it already once before I bought it. I was ripped off by Best Buy, they told me it was just a floor model that was only out for a few weeks. It was a return because it failed and they just pumpped it up with refrigerant and sold it again to an unsuspecting customer.

I had similar problem with RS25555SL - freezer was ok but fridge not. Problem was motor on evaporator fan. After replacement everything worked fine. BTW - my was sold as SAMSUNG - but part was under MAYTAG.

Is the fan blowing air.....ck by holding peice of tissue in front of vent ?
Is the defrost timer workingl...ck by manually turning w/screwdriver around slowly till it clicks then the fan will stop running. Wait about an hour or so and the fan and compressor will start to run again if the timer is working. If you are O K to here, you will need to check the defrost heater and defrost shutdown thermostat, which require special tools and/or dismantling parts.

it sounds like the refrigerator evap is frozen up causing the compartment to get too hot. shut the unit off and let it thaw out. then take the screws out of the cover to check the stryrofoam on the back side of the cover to see if theres broken spots on it causing the air to bypass the evap causing it to freeze. Theres two screws behind the light cover and two at the very bottom of the cover and two behind the decorative plugs about 1/2 way

Most likely the thermostat in the fridge, especially if it read 5 degrees until you reset it. Possibly the compressor in the fridge side as this fridge has twin cooling, or the circulating fan in the back of the fridge is frozen, which is a common problem as well.
Easiest things to try is to see if the fan is frozen and check if the fridge cooling is actually working. Turn off the fridge, remove the shelves, remove the 4 screws that hold in the bottom cover and the 2 screws that hold the water tank in. Cover should then come out a few inches. Reach behind and unplug the 2 plugs and pull out the cover. If the cover doesnt come out easily it may be glued to the back of the fridge by ice. Leave for a couple of hours and gently prize it off. Check for ice around the fan and that the fan spins freely. You could try sitting the cover inside the fridge, plug it in turn it back on for a few minutes (be careful) and then open the door and quickly look / listen to see if the fan is still spinning (it stops when you open the door). Leave the fridge off for a while until the ice disappears off the coils. Turn back on for half an hour. The coils should be icy again. Anything else call Samsung. If the deal in your country is the same as mine the fridge has a 2 year warranty but in the fine print the sealed compressor unit has five years on parts only. You could get the unit replaced for labour costs only. Check your warranty card.
