Is the software made to run with vista? If it is lets go to the autocad website and see if we can find out more about your problem. Please let me know and I'll look up the problem.
    thanks,
    Henry

AutoCAD 2008 is compatible with Windows Vista:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=9217791&linkID=9240617

Also, make sure your AutoCAD installation has the most recent updates:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/linkedsumindex?siteID=123112&id=2334430&linkID=9240618

Chances are, either your plotter is not supported by AutoCAD 2008, you do not have the proper drivers installed for your plotter, or the plotter is not supported by the manufacturer to run on Vista.

According to the company auto cad 2007 and 2008 was not mad to work on Vista. You will need to download autocad 2009 which will work.

Windows Vista does not support that program. you need to "upgrade" to windows XP or wait for windows 7 if you really need that program. That's all I can help you with. Please rate my solution.

I really need more info, like have you installed the Vista drivers for the plotter,if you have and you have run the plotter using other software, then try right clicking on the .exe file or startup icon, go to properties, click on Compatability. select XP(assuming the software is compatible with XP) or whatever OS your software is compatible with. This should take care of any non driver related issues.

Windows vista does not support this software with drivers, my recommendaation is to contact the web site of the autocad and see if you can locate factory drivers for vista, if they have the download available then it will work

IS the driver for the plotter installed? Can you plot using any other program? Is there a test feature in the plotter driver so you can test the plotter? What plotter is it?

Intel 845 Graphics driver is not working in Windows 7 what to do?

Hi

You need to obtain a windows 7 driver for it, or if one is not available then use a vista driver, make sure the driver is 32bit or 64bit depending on the type of your system.

if your windows 7 is 64bit, then you can't use vista 32bit driver. you have to use a vista 64bit driver.

Or if your windows 7 is 32bit(most are) then you have to use a 32bit driver, the 64bit wont work in that case.

Changing Vista to XP Pro on a Compaq Presario SR2180NX Desktop PC

SR2180NX has the Vista 32Bit OS from HP. The restore partition will always put Vista 32Bit back on if you use it. Windows XP can only be put on from scratch and I have done it while I still have Vista installed. One problem: there are no XP drivers under SR2180NX webpages. Do your research on the parts that are installed in the 2180 and any other HP machines that have the Windows XP operating system as the OEM OS. But First, check the Intel Site for the 945 chipset drivers (include the SouthBridge, too) under XP. Get them downloaded to a CD and burn the rest of the drivers you find for XP on the same CD. This way, you will have them ready when you are performing the down-grade to windows xp. After you are done with the XP install, you will still have access to the files & work you had done while in Vista. The Vista files are still readable. You might want to consider getting the Windows 7 Professional (not basic) available October 22, 2009. AND you will still have to get the Intel Downloads for Win7 any way, so why not make it a project and make it last for a few years. XP Support stops in 2014.

install the two OS in separate drives (e.g. XP in C drive and vista in D drive) either have two hard disk drives or 2 partitions.

My plotter is recieving info. but takes forever to start plotting.

Try turning the nesting function off. This can save paper when you are doing high volume printing, particularly with smaller drawings but wil cause extreme delays if there isn't a steady flow of drawings going to the plotter.

Downgrade 64 bit to 32 bit

Are you downgrading from 64bit Vista to 32bit Vista?

If so you will need to purchase the complete installation for 32bit Vista. You insert the disc into the computer, when it asks "press any key to boot CD" press any key, it will start the windows installation. Just continue through with everything. Be warned that this WILL erase all data off of the computer.

If you are trying to downgrade from Vista to XP you will need to find out if the manufacturer ever released drivers for XP for that model of computer. Most newer machines are not XP compatible anymore.

DVD

Hello,
what operating system did you replace XP 32bit, XP 64bit? Was the version of Vista you used the 32bit or the 64bit. You may need to go to HP.Com and look for replacement drivers for the DVD. You can also use the windows update to obtain correct drivers for the DVD if they have tested them already. Another option is to go to the manufacturer of the DVD device and see what they list for the driver. Just remember there is a big differance between the 32bit and 64bit drivers. Read on the Vista system you installed and see what level was installed in your system. Regards, rcampsr

I have a Roland Camm-1 CX-24 cutting machine that has a parallel connection. I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Windows Vista OS. I have a USB to Parallel cable to connect the two. I have...

connect the printer and the comp. and boot up....windows should recognize the new device.
did you add the plotter to "add printers" and its driver and to the correct port?
make sure your plotter is on and loaded and function key pressed.
also some cable manufacturers supply a driver...so download one if need be.
what software are you using? is the software cutter driver set to the correct printer and port?
(by default it never is)!!

Vista...is it a 32 bit version or 64 bit.

Hi.
I dont' work for bestbuy, so i can't tell what the hardware inside this pc is, only looking inside the pc or the hardware manuals a technician can work.
However, to know what kind of windows is installed, you don't need to be an expert, Windows XP 32 bits only shows the logo( WINDOWS XP ), unlike Windows XP 64 bits, this appears as:
( WINDOWS XP X64 ) when windows is starting.
Also you can go to START - CONTROL PANEL - double click on SYSTEM, there you will see some of your system specs.

About the Graphics card, the most qualified to tell you that is Nvidea Manufacturer itself:
See for yourself.

Hope this help you.
Good luck.
