Question about Eureka 411A Upright Vacuum

Eureka 411B Upright Vacuum

I couldn't find this vacuum listed, whether or not the 411A is similar though.

I took apart the brush housing part to clean it. There were 2 pieces that came loose. It some how keeps the body of the vacuum from falling down when it is upright.

It's a white rectangular bar like piece and a metal "V" shaped piece. I can't figure out where they go back in there. I've looked on the Eureka site at the manual, but no where on there can I see those 2 pieces to try to figure out where & how they go back in there.

Mine is a Eureka 411 B. My cousin was the culprit that disassembled to unclog. I have it unclogged and ready to reassemble and like Amber, I can't figure out the place ment of the upright 'stop'/ same description of two parts as Amber. Vacuum now works but need the parts to stand vacuum up. TIA for your assistance. bud b.

They go in the slot beside the right wheel. Metal spring first, (the open ends facing away from front of vacuum base. The white nylon piece lays diagonal and directly on top of the metal spring, round edge up, and aligned with the open ends.

Eureka TRUE HEPA Whirlwind Bagless same problem seems...roller just stopped...took everything apart and turned it on just in time to see belt melt...I was able to get the end caps off both sides at first...

If you are able to remove one end cap, the brush roller shaft can be removed and the other bearing is exposed for examination and removal of the hair that probably is clogging it. After cleaning and reassembly the brush roller should rotate freely. Clean any burned belt residue from the motor shaft and install a new Eureka belt.

How do i put the motor back in vacuum? the motor shifted when we were trying to clean it!!

I used to work for a manufacturer of vacuum cleaner bags, filters, etc., and we would wear out vacuums left and right. Unfortunately, once you remove a motor, especially out of a Eureka, the chance of you getting it back in are slim to none. Your best bet would be to either go to Eureka's website at www.electroluxhomeproducts.com, or, contact a local vacuum dealer and pay the $25 to $50 in labor to have a professional reinstall it. That price is a lot better than having to pay more than $200 for a new vacuum. Hope this helped!

No suction with Eureka Boss Pro Lightweight Bagless Upright, 411A

I checked the vacuum hose to see if there was a clog. 1st, disconnect the hose from the unit so you have access to both ends. Now, place a marble or other ball in one of the hose and see if it will make it all the way through. I found a major "hairball" about 8-10 in down from the vacuum end. I took a metal cloths hanger and bent it in half and did a "roto-rooter operation. It took about 30 minutes, but now it runs like new. I hope this works for you.
