Unable to access my emails

Which email account ?
Most email users experience that dread of realizing they can't access their messages at some point, but the trick is not to panic.

Microsoft has procedures in place to help you get back into your Hotmail and see what is waiting for you in your inbox.

Check you username and password.
Hotmail passwords are case sensitive, so something as simple as having your caps lock on can keep you from accessing your account.

Double check to be sure you are typing both your username and password exactly how you created them.

Reset your password. If you haven't logged into your Hotmail in some time and suspect you might be using the wrong password, click the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the Hotmail log-in page.

On the next screen, follow the prompts to enter your email address and the given security verification code.

Click "continue" and on the next screen, select the option that allows you to answer your pre-set security question.

This is a question you supplied when you set up your Hotmail account.
After correctly answering the question, you will be prompted to reset your password.

Clear your browser history and temporary Internet folders if you are continually getting a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message when you log in.

The exact procedure for doing this depends on your operating system and browser.
If you continue to get see this message, it could indicate a problem with the Hotmail server.

Check the status of the network on a site like Down Right Now that reports server problems on popular sites.

Submit a support request on the Windows Live page.
On the Windows Live site, select "Hotmail" under "Standard Services."
A search screen will open that will allow you to check out a variety of Hotmail related support topics.

At the bottom of that screen, choose "get more help" and then "support."
A support form will open for you to complete and submit to the Hotmail team.

You will receive an answer within 24 hours.
Note that you will need a second email account that you can access so that the Hotmail support staff can send you your answer.

Cannot open my emails

Which email acc.????...
Windows Live Hotmail allows users to view attachments within a Web browser or save them to the system's hard drive.
If Hotmail can't open an attachment, the problem lies with an incompatible file format or Hotmail's automatic blocking service.
You may need new software for opening unfamiliar formats, while blocked files are permanently inaccessible from within Hotmail.
Accessing these files requires action by the sender or forwarding the file to a different email client. Incompatible File Format
Occasionally a sender may attach a file that simply doesn't work with any software you have installed on the system.
Attempting to open the attachment will result in a "Windows cannot open this file" message or similar error display.
Many programs use very specific file formats that don't operate with most other software, such as Photoshop's PSD image files or Microsoft PowerPoint's PPT files.
Ask the sender to convert the file to a more widely compatible format, or install the appropriate software on the system to open the attachment.

Blocked Attachments
Hotmail blocks attachments it believes may contain unsafe or otherwise malicious code.
This includes any and all executable file types, including MSI, EXE, HTML, STC and COM files, along with many others.
Attachments blocked in this way result in a "Windows Live Hotmail has blocked some attachments" message when viewing the email.
While this service does block many real threats to system security, Hotmail may occasionally deny access to an item from a trusted sender.
Unfortunately, these files become permanently inaccessible once blocked by Hotmail, and accessing them requires using a workaround outside the Hotmail application.
Only attempt to access attachments you trust as safe.

Forward Workaround While Hotmail cannot open blocked attachments, it allows users to forward the message with the blocked file still attached.
Send the file to a different email client, and open the attachment using that account instead. Note other clients may have different security measures, but some will still block access to executable files and other potentially harmful data.

Compression Workaround

Ask the sender to package the attachment into a ZIP, RAR or other compressed file format before attaching.
Hotmail will not block any file type located inside a compressed archive.
Both Windows and OS X can create compressed ZIP files, and free utilities such as Zipeg and 7-Zip can create many other types of archives as well.
Some email clients, such as Gmail, will not allow users to send some file formats, even when packaged into an archive file.

I can sign in to Hotmail, but I can't open any of the messages

If Hotmail can't open an attachment, the problem lies with an incompatible file format or Hotmail's automatic blocking service.

You may need new software installed on your computer IE: adobe . direct x , zip for opening unfamiliar formats, while blocked files are permanently inaccessible from within Hotmail.

I've been phished by email, using hotmail, and it has wiped all my contacts from my email address book. Is there any way of recovering these?

If you have been using the web interface to access your Hotmail e-mail, then your contacts are likely lost, unless you have a backup copy on your PC. If you ever exported them from Hotmail, then you can import them back into Hotmail.

There is also a small chance that if you contact Hotmail support, they might be able to restore them if they have a backup copy and you explain your situation; however, it's unlikely that they will spend the time to do so.

If you have been accessing your e-mail via an e-mail client on your desktop, like Outlook or Outlook Express, then there is a chance that you might be able to restore them from the web interface via the Export function.

Good luck.

I can not recive or send emails. There is a block on my hotmail account for my emails.I would be grateful if this can be solved as i use this service to get jobs.thankyou

If you don't use your hotmail address for more than three months your account will be deactivated automatically in such a case you log through your MSN or windows live messenger with this same address and reactivate your hotmail if not possible you may contact msn authority to reactivate your account, they will do it if its not deleted account for some reason.

Are you using to access your mail via a network where there is firewall or proxy blocked for accessing hotmails and other mails.

If you got a stand alone machine and internet access please check your security setting and change it to low or medium and check its working
