Plasma TV - intermittent blinking

I have a Panasonic 42" Plasma TV (TH-42PX60U). Recently, it started having problem where about every 10 seconds the screen "blinks" and turns black for an instant (i.e. less than a second). Everything else is working fine. Thanks!

I have the same issue whereby the screen every now and then will blink, so the screen goes black for an instance. I actually had the TV replaced, as it happened as soon as I bought the TV. but the new TV does exactly the same thing. there is nothing else plugged into the socket. but I'm thinking it may have something to do with the simplink feature.. possibly it is sending out a signal at times... not sure.. I've just started researching.

Power supply failure. Either a capacitor went bad, or there is a loose solder joint near the big transformer on the power board. I would guess loose solder connection.

It went out within ten seconds. I pushed the power button again and the tv went on. WOOHOO!!! Just needed reset, I guess.

Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV: red blinking light

are you using a PC to feed a signal or maybe a cable with an adapter?
I had the same issue when I used one of the rear HDMI ports to show a PC display. Apparently there is a software difference between the rear and side/front ports. Inputting the PC through the side HDMI port has solved the problem for me (so far!)

TH-42PX60U red light blinks 10 times wont come on

On a Panasonic TV the 10-blink error code can sometimes be caused by low voltage running through an HDMI cable, particularly from a Media PC or some video game consoles. Try disconnecting any HDMI cables and unplugging the Television for 30 seconds, then power it on without the cables attached.

If this works, connect the cables to the front panel (usually HDMI-3) which uses a different controller board.
