Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500 Digital Camera
Hmm sounds like you may have gotten corrupted..
ok here is what you do..
1.) connect the camera to the computer via the usb cable
2.) go to My computer and you should see your camera show up as an external drive.
3.) right click on it and select format. this will erase every thing and free up your memory once more.
4.) chack your manual to see what size memory card your camera support most are usually limited to 1 or 2 GB, if your card dont meet the requirments it may need to be changed.
If after your format using the above method you staill cant take shots without the memory card please insure in your camera settings that its set to save to internal memory.
Ok if all the above fails,,
1.) log on to your manufactures home page then search and download the firmware upgrade for your model camera.
2.) Upgrade the firmware using the directions provided by your manufacturer( this is usually on the page or comes with the download)
PS.. Some camera's have a flash utility that will reset it to factory condition this can also be download from the manufactures home page..
