Insignia tv channel scan duplicate channels

Our cable company added some channels, so I had to rescan them all. Now I get two of each, one regualr cable and on digital. How do I get the TV to only scan digital and turn regular cable off? It wont let me choose in the channel setup phase.

The set should have in the menu a way to manually add or delete channels, consult the owner manual and or look for that feature in the sets menu.

SOURCE: No digital channels

  1. Cable company sending something through the line. Also th insigna has a different tuner. Also can the insignia find the digital channels using an antenna?

Testimonial: "Thanks. I resolved it by removing a splitter from being in line with the cable itself."

TV says please run channel auto scan. I have a roku device hooked up to the tv as well and I'm not sure if it's the correct thing to do??? Run auto scan??? I dont remember how to do the settings on the tv...

The rescan is if you have cable or an antenna connection. It does not apply to a ROKU. Because broadcasters are adding subchannels regularly, urban over the air folkis should rescan every month or so.

My Emerson TV is stuck on number 1 channel how do I get it to go to other channels?

Need to go into the menu look for the channel setup then check the skipped channels make sure channel 1 isn't the only Channel not checked also Look at Your scanned channels in the channel list how many do you have is channel 1 it ? you may need to rescan your channels . If the TV worked OK before but Not now try resetting Your TV , BUT do this last as You will need to reset all the parameters in Your initial setup as well as rescanning channels also the Volume may blast you after reset I always install a set of earphones in the Audio phone jack first . To reset the TV Unplug it from the back of the set wait 30-40 seconds reconnect the plug while holding the Power Button Reset Your Options and Settings then Rescan your channels Don't forget the volume and to unplug earphones Good Luck

Will not show anything but static

Make sure the TV tuning mode is set for "cable". This will be somewhere in the TV's setup menus; check your manual for all the details. If it's set for "air" as I suspect it is, only the first 13 channels will be found when connected to cable. Channels 14 and up don't get tuned in on "air". Once you've set the TV for cable, rescan channels and you should have 'em all.

Cannot keep all channels on tv

When you say you "lose" channels, you probably mean there's no signal there anymore but they are still in the channel memory. This is normal if you have a rotatable antenna. You need to mark the rotator (or just keep a chart nearby) with the heading for each channel.

If you mean you're losing channels from memory when rescanning after turning the antenna, the only solution I can offer is to record the channels found (and their signal levels) after scanning a direction. Then change directions and rescan. See what new channels have been found, what have been lost, or how signal level has changed on common channels. Then you can manually add whatever you need, and you'll know what direction is best for each. It's tedious, but you should only need to do it once.
