Replacing the wiper control unit on a 1999 honda accord

The intermittent wiper frequency only works at the low end of the spectrum and when you put it at the high setting within the intermittent range, the wipers act as if they're on the medium setting. Medium and high settings seem to be working as expected. My question is two part ... 1) will this get worse as time goes by if we do nothing and the wipers may stop working altogether ... 2) which part of the electronics needs attention? ... the switch assembly on the steering column? is there an inexpensive way to inspect and repair it?

Yes it will get worse-yes they can stop working all together-you must replace the arm on which the switch is attached connected to steering column- get a used one from junk yard and a book at library

My windshield wipers on a 1992 Honda Accord LX won't come on right away when I turn the switch. I have to wait about 10 minutes. The wipers work fine in the "mist" mode (manually). Once they start...

A couple of DIY things come to mind..
1, make sure you have a good ground connection from the battery to car ie not corroded, clean good connection both ends.
2. The ICU (integrated control unit) is failing or has some corrosion on the connectors. It's on the back of the fuse box.
It controls
•Intermittent Wiper Control Circuit
•Side Marker Flasher Circuit
•Seat Belt/Key-in Beeper Circuit
•Lights-on Reminder Circuit
•Low Oil Pressure Flasher Circuit
•Rear Window Defogger Timer Circuit

My 1998 Honda Accord EX windshield wiper fluid pump and intermittent wiper mode doesn?t work. The wiper switch, the fluid pump motor, and fuses are ok. Could it be a fault in the ?drivers multiplex control...

You could have debirs in the pump or in the line. some units have screens that can get clogged up. Do make sure fuse is in place and tight. There may also be a relay that could be loose or faulty. You can check with an ohmmeter.

Wiper speed control for a '97 Mercury Grand Marquis. What causes the wiper to work on high speed only?

Intermittent wiper control stopped working on my 1996 GM last spring. I ended up replacing the wiper motor ($100.00 part). Since I have found it on Amazon for $58 including shipping. It works fine now. Only bad part was all the "stuff" that has to come out (like dead leaves!) to get to the wiper motor. Also make sure you have your wipers in the down position when you replace the motor.

Power door locks not working on 1998 honda accord lx

I promise this works 'cause I used it:

Put the key in the ignition, move the intermittent wiper control to the middle possition and then turn the key on.

just to clarify it's the ring that controlls the intermittent wiper speed and not the int / low/ high switch.

What this does is it resets the multiplex unit that controlls the accessories such as the power door locks. This problem usually happens once the battery has been removed or disconnected and reconnected. Every once in a while the multiplex systems lock up. Especially on the 98s. That's how you wake em up.

Wipers on 99 Accord stopped working

This really sounds like a switch problem, if it was anything to do with the wiper motor or other parts of the circuit it would not work in any mode, mist or otherwise.
