Get my acer AX1920 into safe mode

This could indicate a number of things. If you never see any video on the screen--not even during POST--then that could indicate either a bad video card (or bad integrated video on the motherboard) or a bad monitor. If you have a spare monitor around, hook it up to the computer to see whether you get video. If not, then get in touch with a local computer repair shop and see what video cards they have available that will work with your machine.

On the other hand, if you do get to see POST but it is only Windows that gives you no video output, then that is probably caused by a bad video mode being set within Windows that the screen cannot display. In that case, you need to set it back to a Low-Resolution mode (either 640x480 or 800x600, depending on which version of Windows you are using) and then set the proper resolution once you are booted into Windows normally. To get into Safe Mode, you need to press F8 after POST has run and before Windows starts to load. Pressing it two to three times a second until the Safe Mode menu appears should do the trick.

COMPUTER TURNS ON, BUT THERES NO START UP AND SCREEN IS BLANK

Try to go to Safe Mode by reseting the computer then tapping F8. If your able to acces safe mode follow these instructions:

1. Go to start then click on RUN
2. Type msconfig
3. go to services tab, click hide microsoft services then click disable all
4. reboot the computer and see it it will go to normal mode. It you will be able to boot to normal mode it only means that one of the isntalled software is preventing windows to load

How do you put windows into safe mode?

Power on or Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 on the keyboard while it boots up. After few seconds, you'll be taken to the "Advanced Boot Options" with "Safe Mode" in the lists. Use the Up-Down arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode" and press enter on the keyboard to confirm the selected boot options. Black Screen with white texts will be displayed on the display, wait for few seconds until you see the windows logon Screen. You'll also see a confirmation message box asking you to confirm to boot into Safe Mode, click "yes" or "Ok" and proceed forward. There now you are in the Safe Mode.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

The computer will not boot into normal mode without shutting off the power. If I go into safe mode and disable the video drivers then it will boot into normal mode and run for as long as I want.

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

The screen is broken and i need to connect it to a pc monitor in order to get data off but the monitor is saying no signal.... it showed the windows startup but then turns off

most likely, that's because the video resolution or frequency is not set correctly for the "new" monitor.
i am assuming that you are NOT ref'ing to a laptop computer being the one you need data from...
your best bet will be to begin tapping the "F8" key prior to seeing the windows load screen. you should see the "ACER" screen first then it will normally transition to the windows loading screen. when you see the ACER screen, start tapping the "F8" key approximately once per second (if you tap too rapidly, you will get a keyboard error... in which case, just reboot the computer.). once the "F8" stroke is successful, you should get a list of options. one of the options should say "Safe Mode" and "Safe Mode with Networking". using your arrow keys, select one of them and press enter. hopefully, being in safe mode will allow your "new" monitor to display the default frequency and resolution.

Try this, boot into safe mode with networking(press f8 during the post screen when you turn your computer on and chose safe mode with networking). Once you have logged into your account, in internet explorer go to www.ewido.com and run the online scanner(link is in the top right corner). If you still can't use your web browser in safe mode, download a couple anti malware programs on another computer and burn them to a cd or flash drive. Install them on your computer in "normal" mode and make sure they're updated. Then boot back into safe mode and run the programs individually. A couple good free anti malware programs are Spybot Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Adaware, and Superantiyspyware.

My monitor won't start

There must be a connection problem from monitor to pc, check the pins to see if any are bent in the plug to the pc. If it is a seperate graphics card, check that it is seated correctly in the agp (brown) slot and not come loose. Try booting in safe mode (F8) on boot and select boot Windows in safe mode(this will run pc with normal vga driver and not the graphics driver), and see if it stays on, if it does it is a graphics card driver fault, so re install.
