Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

I am assuming you have got a panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound system.

Please confirm whether the display shows CD MODE or CT MODE. I am not sure if there is anything like CT mode.

It is possible the CD Mode button on the remote unit has been pressed. In this case press the CANCEL button or the CD Mode button and see if the system is operating otherwise.

In case you do not have the manual see this site.

usually it means you have a bad power supply.

Have similar problem on a Panasonic Tau model CT-27SL15.
It's a 27" CRT TV manufactured around 2005.

Other posts / solutions on this problem say possibly a capacitor going bad in the vertical circuitry / near the vertical IC / vertical blanking circuitry. Telephone call to a TV repair person mentioned something similar - "possibly a bad capacitor in the vertical circuitry".
Found a service manual online w/schematics and board layouts.

Shows: V Output IC - IC401
Finding the actual bad component(s) may not be so easy.
Anyway ... just wanted to add this comment.

you will need the panasonic remote..

hold down the V/- button on the television. Then press the AV button 3 times on the Panasonic Remote. This will bring up the hidden menu for you.

while on press power and action buttons together for about 5 sec. that chk means you are in service man mode.

That's good you have time and patience.
You should have service manual and electronics knowledge to recognize and test / check parts in tv.
Problem is in Pin Out area of tv and you can have new parts from Panasonic Parts.
