| | Installing this wireless adapter couldn't have fried the motherboard, right? ||I would not have thought so .. the software may have caused an issue --- as the PC boots tap F8 you should get a menu - choose "last known good configuration" ---- if that does not work, reboot and again tap F8 as it boots and this time choose safemode - then see if you can restore start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore> choose a date to before the data you installed the wireless adapter software
Just Put the XP CD, and restart your Notebook, the booting will start automatically, and will install the Windows.
If the Booting doesn't start, then you need to go to the Setup(BIOS) and set the CD-ROM to be the First Booting device, (This option is in the BIOS settings somewhere, it varies from vendor to vendor, but is somewhere under Boot-Menu or Booting Order).
Hi there. If the beep is a short beep then there is nothing wrong with the PC, just enter the bios utility, set the date and time, save the changes and exit the bios. The computer will restart and should boot straight through to windows. Please post back if you need anymore help or advice.
Put your Windows XP disk in the drive then restart the system. If it is the original disk it and you are just trying to restore the system to Factory Original, It will start from the disk and ask you what you would like to do to restore system.
when you turn on your pc there is normally something that says press whatever key for setup. press that key and then you would have to set the first boot or primary boot as cd and then save and restat the pc. please let me know if anything else is needed and i will be happy to help.
