Question about Canon PIXMA iP4200 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Prints only the 1st page of info. sent by adobe.

I have trouble printing out info. sent to me from a web site. No-one else has a problem but I'm unable to print more than the 1st page even though they all appear on the screen. The printer is set at 'print all' but only shows 1 to 1. I've tried changing this to no avail. The printer does know there is more than one page as subsequent pages emerge, only they are blank. I can't believe this is the fault of the web site as I'm the only one with this problem and the printer works OK for everything else. Any ideas please? Also the printer 'dog ears' the pages in the top left corner. There's a small flap that seems to get in the way and only obliges if one feeds the paper in manually around it. Is there anything I can do to rectify? Many thanks!

No, it is definitely your printer. You need to uninstall it and reinstall it to correct issues.

Epson TMU-295 prints in condensed mode with Windows 7 from web application while the same printer prints the same output in normal mode with Windows XP. How comes?

window is not the faulty one if you are using a third party software of sent print option from internet then problem must be with in drivers..... print a self test page if ok then print test page from system (control Panel) if both point ok then there must be problem in online software/ERP.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

The printer is printing an addition page each time a page is sent

Are you using a custom written language application or are you using an application such as Word?

It appears that you are using a PJL wrapper around the print job. Please create a print to file (off of the driver screen) and send it to me at I'll be able to look at the job and see what ie happening.

Right now I suspect that you are not clearing out the PJL properly.

How to reset the CLP 500N to factory setting?

It can also depend on the software your printing from. I know AdobeReader8 now has the ability to change where the page prints.

Dell printer problems

You need to enter Page Setup under the File menu. Check that the scale is 100% and the page margins are set to 1/2 inch on all sides.
Then, you can also enter Printer Preview, and check that "fit to page" is not set and the printer settings will result in actual size.
