Compressor does not work.

T M I ! (too much information) The outside unit , remove the cover to look at the litle round can to see if it exploded, got a buldge from flat on the top or bottom of it or just swollen on the top or bottom. If ok then check the wires on the compressor to see if they all have a good connections. If not the fan or the compressor don,t work then check to see if you have 240 volts to the contactor, or 24 volts to close the contactor.! thank-you-very-much!
