Question about Samsung HLP5067W Television

1 Answer

Hlp5067w won't come on & I've replaced the bulb.

With the back panel open, I can see the new lamp trying to start up and it even makes a loud buzzing sound, but it will never actually turn on.

We recently went through the same thing. The loud buzzing sound was the color wheel which also had to be replaced.

If you hear a clicking sound in your bulb area like an arcing sound it's probably your ballast trying to fire up your bulb. new ballast easy to replace and around $100.

This sounds like a lazy lamp--that is getting hard to start. Try a new lamp first. If you are inclined to do so--get a bard bulb and install in the old lamp housing and save some money. Get a real PHILLIPS bulb--it will last a while--compared to cheap generics that are good for maybe 6 months !!

Loud humming or buzzing noise have picture but flashes all different colors resets and goes off after awhile good pic after that

The tv problems and causes are 100% is the tv colors wheel it is causes and the tv problems. The tv are having humming or loud buzzing noises sounds are the causes of the tv colors wheel going off and out control of it motor mount and spinning in at high RPM speed and different colors showing up or flahes of black and white color in the tv back ground. The tv colors wheel must have to be replace.Best hire a tv tech to do the replacement of the tv colors wheel, because have to take out many mechanicals parts before can even come to the tv colors wheel is self to replace it.

Bulb has gone out and now makes a loud noise

The noise depending on where it came from may be normal. You wont be sure unless a TV repairman checks the boards to know for sure, or you could replace the bulb and hope for the best.

You probably don't have the new bulb seated properly. Does the buzz last for about 5 seconds, quit for a little bit, and then repeat? If so, then it is the ballast trying to start the lamp but for some reason or another, the lamp is having a problem.

I turn tv on...green light comes on but i get no picture or audio....then light indicator blinks red

Hello!
Lamp or ballast(if lamp has been replaced) is bad.
Explanation: green comes on: system works, waiting for light to shine into light engine: no light is coming out of lamp, system shuts down, then you see red! how to determine: pull the lamp out of the unit's compartment. Inspect lamp: bloated stem? shuttered? reflector is not shiny? Chuck it!
Lamp looks good or just been replaced: try ballast. Close lamp compartment without lamp itself. Make sure, door is shut, as well. Turn unit on and listen close to lamp compartment: good ballast will make a buzzing noise, then stop. You've got "red'! No buzzing: ballast quit. Needs major repair! Lamp must be good, for sure, to get to the last part of diagnostics. Conclusion: more, than 2000 hours of usage: replace lamp first!
Good luck,
Alex.

Problem with Toshiba DLP Projection TV Model #52HM84

It is possible the lamps may be defective or that they may be the wrong replacement for this model, as it may have a different wattage setup with the ballast. If you want to try to order the TB25 lamp from a different vendor, you can order the original Toshiba replacement lamp for this model (52HM84) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:

My samsung hl-p5067w does not work

I would see if it's the lamp ballast only about $100.00 and easy to replace, it's the part underneath the lamp that fires up the bulb. The light engine itself is over $900 to buy and not worth it! I have same T.V.

HLP5067W Going on and off

Sounds like the bulb needs to be replaced. With the tv you have the Bulb last about 6000-8000 hours. If you think that is about right then you it most likely is time ro replace. You should be able to find the replacement bulb from the manufacture and then find it online to purchase.

After much research, it became apparent that the most logical culprit after the lamp was the color wheel. It has been replaced and the set is working again.

Buzzing and glowing on circuit board

That white cylinder is a capacitor and is very dangerous, you need to discharge it and replace it. Does the top seem to be bulging on it? If so, it is bad for sure and it is cheap for a new one. If it continues to buzz after replacing it, then your board has a problem. Replace capacitor before replacing lamp. The lamp still may be good
