Question about Sony VAIO GRZ610 Notebook
When I start up my laptop the green light ON light comes on and that's all. I remain on the POWER button several seconds so machine shuts down again. I do this twice. On the 3rd try I hear the hard drive go into action, indicator lights come on and all is well. Now the computer behaves normally for maybe 4-5 times and always starts up again like it should. Then the whole problem begins again. I can arrest the problem by continually leaving computer on standby when I go to bed for example. It always starts from that mode.
Computer never shuts it self off on it's own, as some owners have had an issue with that.
I have the same laptop and had similar issues. My issues started a few months after maxing out the RAM. The problem was with the 2nd memory slot. I don't remember the exact problem, but the store that fixed mine had to re-solder the memory slot.
I believe if you only use the first memory slot it will boot up fine. It is only when the 2nd slot is used that the "won't turn on issue" starts.

You may need a bios flash to solve the power up problem, the power up and down settings are in there, you can download the latest bios flash from your computer manufaturer support website, but first i would have a look at your power settings in the control panel while the computer is on before you do the bios flash
