Audio in spanish when spanish is broadcasted

Toshiba model 24af45. My mothers Toshiba broadcasts in spanish when the station broadcasts the dual language. started this spring during NBA playoffs. she doesn't have cable, only 4 local broadcast channels. I checked to make sure SAP was disabled. All language settings are set to english....however, when I hit the reset to default button on the remote, all language gets set to spanish!! Bought this unit at Best Buy a year ago. Could it be possible that this set was destined for outside the USA? Is there any way to change defaults? Thanks for your time.

TOSHIBA tv some of my stations are broadcasting in spanish

Look on the remote for the set OR a box if used---SAP is selected==switch it off or to stereo.

Remember it can come from a cable or sat box as well as from the set.

Have a toshiba 50" Plasma TV purchased 11/06.

I do not think there is an issue with the TV. I do not think that the station themselves broadcast the Closed Captioning.

Tv has sound on all channels but one. Had sound but 30 min later no sound. When watching two tv's on same channel the one with no sound was lagging behind other tv not in sync as all other tv's in house...

Check to see if your audio source is set to SAP. This stands for secondary audio program. For example, some stations broadcast english and spanish. Some stations broadcast english and nothing. If you are on a channel that broadcasts english and nothing, and you are SAP setting, you will hear nothing.

How to get toshiba 42 inch to 1080 from 720

The set doesn't do that, only the broadcast stations can. Hardly anyone broadcast in 1080p. 99% broadcast in 1080i = 720p. Your set will produce it if it can get it. 1080p broadcast is probably a few years away. A Blueray DVD player with a 1080p disc will get it for you. I hope this explains it for you.

I have a 19 inch Vizio HDTV hooked up to cable. It has worked beautifully until two days ago when 3 stations all of a sudden began speaking in Spanish and 3-4 stations (different) audio went mute. This all...

In the audio menu there is a setting for "SAP". This stands for Second Audio Program. Some stations will broadcast a SAP signal along with the normal signal. Some don't, That is why some stations don't have any audio. Turn that SAP off.

We have a 32" Toshiba Tv and the sound is off on two channels and Stereo Sap is displayed on these two channels. Any suggestions as to how I could clear this?

turn off the sap in the audio menu. sap is "secondary audio programming" i believe, and sometimes stations will broadcast in spanish on this sap or will broadcast weather or emergency information. these channels are probably broadcasting a mute sound over the air.

My tv is on spanish how do i take it off

Spanish on the screen or Spanish through the speakers on some channels? If its the on-screen display that's in Spanish, you pick the language using the setup menu with the remote control. If you're getting Spanish through the speakers, you probably have turned on the SAP (second audio program) function. In some areas with a large enough population, SAP is often used to broadcast program audio in a different language. On channels with no SAP broadcast you don't hear any problems. The SAP function is usually controlled by a button on the remote and probably got pressed by accident.

Analog or Digital?

This tv is analog, EDTV is only enhanced definition tv ,480p resolution, not the HDTV 1080i or 1080p resolution, the mts/sap tuner has to do with the audio decoder. For example: SAP would allow you to view a station broadcast in english to be heard in spanish. MTS is surround sound broadcast. Thanks
