VIZIO MODEL VW42LFHDTV10A WILL NOT TURN ON. FUSES &VOLTAGES OK

Did you check for the "ON" or "PS ON" signal on the power supply board? It should be around 3.3vdc.This signal comes from the main board, it commands the other sections of the power supply to come on and turn on the TV set. This signal should be present when you press the power button from either the TV or remote. If you are not getting this signal from the main board, you're most likely dealing with a main board failure. If you are dealing with a main board failure, take heed, some Vizio main boards can be expensive.

The yellow light comes on inside but the computer won't come on neither does it beep?

First remove any power cables and batteries(if laptop) from your system and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.

Plug the power cable back in & attempt to boot.
If this does not solve your problem then you will need to remove all non-essentials from your system.

If laptop, this simply consist of battery, ram, optical drive & any other removable bays or devices. Unplug all cables except the power cable & attempt to boot.

If desktop, you will need to remove any cables plugged into your computer except keyboard, mouse, power, video, sound, & network cable. Open the case & remove any PCI cards, except video cards, unless you have on-board video, unplug the data & power cables going to the optical & hard drives. Now attempt to boot. If you have no luck you can remove your RAM sticks & try again. If you get an error beep warning you about no ram then you might have a bad ram stick. If none of the above works then you may have a bad power supply or motherboard. Power supplies are pretty easy to test with tester or use a spare.

System dead

Hi Fr.David
You mention '..info on BIOS..'
Is your BIOS (or anything) displaying on the screen?
If screen is also dead, then your PSU 5V (red) section is suspect.
As the fans are fanning then 12V DC (yellow) is still OK.
To check your PSU, unplug & disconnect all power connector cables (note where they go, esp the M/Board supply).
Some PSU's have a green 'signal good' wire which to test must be grounded with a paper-clip etc to black.
This tells the Power Supply Unit to start up.
Black is common negative, Yellow 12V positive, Red 5V positive.
I'm positive.
I hope your test results are not too negative. ;)
Hope this helps.
Clive.

Kicker zx1000.1 stopped working completely. I have 3 Kicker 10" cv subs hooked to it. The first time it shut off I turned the system off. When I turned it back on it worked for a few minutes and...

First check to see if your'e getting power to the amp by using a test light and touch the main power(12V battery) connector on the amp, test light should come on since it's constant 12v supply. Now turn on the radio and test the remote wire connector on the amp and you should have 12V(test light should come on). Also make sure that you have a good connection with your ground wire, check both connection points to make sure it's good. Now if you have power where your'e suppose to and when your'e suppose to and the amp does not power up, then it may be time for a new amp. Try wiggling the connections at the amp a bit, the solder may be cold/loose.

BLOWER FAN WILL NOT RUN ON HIGH SPEED. WHAT TO CHECK??

The relay for the manual blower system is a different relay from the others. It has terminal 87 which is the high amp terminal. It comes through fuse 3 on the relay center, a 30 amp fuse. It it is right hand underhood.

The relay also contacts terminal 87A which is the lower power circuit that gets 25 amp from fuse 5D in the instrument panel fuse block. That supplies the 3 lower speeds and when switched to high applies voltage to the relay switching it from the 25 amp circuit to the 30 amp circuit.

The SAME wiring supplies the blower from the relay on to the blower. The blower uses only one ground which is terminal B on the blower motor. Your motor should have run the same but when you disconnected the terminal socket for both A and B from the blower motor, there was no ground. You do have to supply your own ground!

Easy check is fuse 3 in the relay center. Hope it's blown. Might question why it blew, but that's an easy replacement. I might indicate impending blower motor failure with age and high current loads.

it could indicate the relay is stuck on the 87A contact and not switching under power to the other terminal. Could be primary circuit blown not pulling the relay or could be the contacts are physically burned to the most-used contact.

I have an lg 32lx2r tv the stand by light comes on but the tv dont. some thime if i switch it off at the mains then back on then the tv comes on but not all the time. what can i do & can you help...

Good day!

Please follow this procedure to fix your problem:
  1. Open the cover of your TV.Remove all screws at the back.
  2. Next, power ON the TV and check the output voltage of power supply using voltmeter.
  3. It should have not less than 5vdc for system board,12vdc for sounds and 24vdc for inverter board. If the 3 supplies are got a voltage drop your power supply had problem. For example if you check the 5vdc then the reading is 4.50vdc only.
  4. If you have voltage drop, check some leak/bulge on top capacitor on power supply.replace it by using soldering iron and soldering pump.
  5. When the power supply looks like OK,no voltage drop and no leak/bulge on top capacitor. The problem is your system board or main board. There's no easy remedy for that. You have to replace the whole system board.
I hope this solution helps you to fix your problem.Thank you and good luck.

Re: Pyramid PS-36kx power supply buzzer sounded, red light came on

Hi! I saw your question, and maybe this will help. I also have a Texas Star 100w amp, and this same power supply. Even though the nominal draw for your equipment is way below the rated amp flow of the power supply, when you key up, and the output on the amp is at max, you are drawing the limit of your power supply! Try running this setup at a lower linear output. You don't need the full 100 watts to get out! 60-80 watts is aplenty! You should start at a low output, and slowly increase the output(while keyed up), untill the power supply starts to complain.(buzzer/light). This is what your limit will be. The only other cure, is a MUCH bigger power supply. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a 60-90 amp supply, so this is what I am forced to do to use the one we have. Also, keep your cb's output very low when using the linear amp. These amps are supposed to get a low signal from your radio, or the linear amp is overdriven. (noisy and unstable. Hope this helps you! 73's to you! jimsjinx
