Question about Canon PowerShot SD750 / IXUS 75 Digital Camera

CANON PowerShot750 blank screen while using external mic

Everytime I plug in an external mic, I get a blank screen/black screen. I've tried two different mics. Pressing the DISP. button does nothing.

Since I can't delete my comment, I'll let you know my solution. There is no A/V input. I mistook the A/V output for a mic jack.

I have qhm 500 lm camera with 6 lights. I think the microphone of the camera is not working. How do i check and fix the same if it is not working ??

If you can get an external mic and plug it in, then you can see if its the circuitry of the camera or the mic is bad. If the mic is bad, its a pretty delicate mechanical operation to find and fix the offending parts. Of course, you can just strap an external mic on the thing and be done with it. If its the circuit, you'd need professional repair most likely.

Turn on camera..view finder and/or display screen

The s7000 has three different display modes: Screen, viewfinder, and off. Screen is for looking at the big screen, viewfinder is for looking through the digital viewfinder, and off should turn off all the displays. Try pressing the DISP button once. That should reactivate the screen and make it possible to use the camera again.

Black screen on canon sd1100 is

Actually, the problem was that the DISP button was pressed causing the screen to turn black to save battery life. Easy fix. Just pressed the DISP button again until the display showed what i was looking at through the view finder.

IXUS 70 with black screen!

Did you accidentally press the lower-left DISP button on the back of your camera? This manually turns the screen on and off to save battery power. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. Try pressing the DISP button once to see if the screen turns back on.

I have a Canon powershot SD1000 that no longer will show the picture on the viewing screen. The screen is completely black

Hi!

It's possible that you may have accidentally pressed the DISP button to disable the LCD. Please try to press the DISP button after you switch on the camera. If the display does not show up on the first press, try pressing the button twice or until the LCD turns on.

Please let me know if it fixed the problem , or not so that we can try other options.

Good luck and have a nice day!
