I think all of those settings can be changed from the computer's display control panel. Any electronic store should be able to help you find a cable. Try bringing them a picture of the TV port.

How do I get my LCD monitor to display my computer correctly

This happens when you're trying to run the laptop screen and the TV at the same time. It's caused because the laptop screen and the TV are different resolutions. Very few laptops can run two different screen resolutions at the same time.

The TC-L32X1 supports a fixed range of resolutions. These are listed on page 24 of the user manual http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-L32X1?t=manuals&support#tabs The resolutions are [4:3] 640x480 and 1024x768, and [16:9] 800x480, 1280x768, 1366x768. I would recommend either 1366 x 768 or 1280x768.

What you do next is set the laptop so that it runs the TV only. It's slightly different between brands, but they all use a combination of the "Fn" key and maybe F4, or F5 or F8 or one of the function keys that has the monitor symbol. Press the Fn and the appropriate function key at the same time. The displays will cycle: laptop only -> laptop + TV -> TV only -> laptop only.

Once just the TV is getting a picture, you can use the laptop's graphics tab to change the resolution if the laptop hasn't already done this for you. This does vary depending on the operating system and the video card software. Try right clicking on the background image on the desktop and see if there's a short cut to the Graphics Properties.

Hope this helps

I am trying to stream video (netflix) to the Sony kv 32hs500 through a hdmi cable conneccted to an ASUS windows 7 pc. I downloaded and installed the VGA driver for the ASUS. I am still unable to see the...

OK well you really do have a problem, and I wonder if the only way you will be able to resolve it, will be to increase your Video resolution, even higher, you should be able to use 1080, or 720, via the HDMI, which is natively a very high resolution system. However I feel that you will need to "Tailor" the screen size & aspect ratio for the receiving unit. Often on the TV there are controls that will alter the screen settings, resoloution, aspect ratio, width, etc, (Check your manual) some can alter the image regardless of the "Input" factors. If you cannot do this, then perhaps it may pay you to investigate "Other" softwares that perform the same functions but enable more control over the image size etc.

You say you have downloaded the VGA driver? By this I presume you are indicating that you have DLed and installed the Video driver for you brand of Video card, from the card manufacturers website, (Or similar) this indeed is important,as ONLY those drivers will allow access to any "Special" settings of features that would NOT be available when using Windows generic drivers. Also ensure you have the latest drivers too.
It maybe that you will have to output in a lesser format, say Composite,or Componet? If you have that available,or perhaps use a converter?
There are "After market" software that will allow one to "Tweak" the output to the screen, see links below.
You didn't indicate the manufacturer, so i have included both NVIDIA & ATI, software.

I WANT TO USE THE TV AS A MONITOR FOR MY LAPTOP THAT HAS A BUSTED SCREEN. I HAVE IT HOOKED THROUGH A CONVERTER BOX AND THE S VIDEO PLUG TO THE LAPTOP. ITS HOOKED UP BUT I CANT READ THE WRITING IT IS VERY...

The resolution for S video is low, 480i. This is going to be your limitation. You can try to change the resolution on the laptop, but this will more or less just resize it. Does your TV have VGA? A simple VGA cable would be all you need and the resolution would be much higher. If this is an older TV, they just make for good monitors.

I WANT TO CHANGE THE SCREEN RESOLUTION AND BRIGHTNESS ON MY Alba LCD19880 HDF TELEVISION AND HAVE MISPLACED THE USER MANUAL. HOW DO I DO THIS? I AM USING IT AS A COMPUTER MONITOR.

You do not adjust the screen resolution at the monitor, it will adjust itself to what you are feeding it up to the native max resolution. You computer will have to be the one to set.

If you are trying to change your Graphic Card resolution try this.Right Cilck anywhere on your desktop screen,You should get a Display Menu Box.Click on properties and then settings. You can now slide the resolution bar to 1024 x 786 click apply then OK your resolution will change and ask if you want to keep this setting if you got a display click yes.Remember to make sure your TV supports this resolution.Good Luck.

DRIVER REQUIRED DGM L-1931W MONITOR

Elaine,
You can go here http://www.digimate.co.uk/index2.htm and download a driver no problem... But my guess is that the driver, or lack thereof, is not the problem. It sounds like settings and one of the computer Guru's here can probably help you navigate your operating system to reset them properly. If not let me know and I'll try to help.
