Question about Sony STR-DE197 Receiver
When the receiver is on I get interference lines on tv. These come and go but ate constant until i shut uoff receiver. Cable box is next to receiver. I plugged in other plug-in, changed splitter, and A-B switch. DVD player of or on makes no difference. Also moved receiver 4 feet away, no luck. Speakers use monster cable and are 10 foot away from receiver.
Hook up Composite / Component Monitor Out wire from receiver to TV video input because receiver will not change analog input into HDMI
You need to connect receiver and TV through analog video terminals as above.
Actually you are expecting that receiver will convert DVD player and Xbox analog video input into digital HDMI signal for TV and This is incorrect.

SOURCE: Subwoofer hum from STR-DH800
That points pretty much to a bad shield on the cable. Have you tried another one? Another thing to try is to rotate the AC power cord on the sub (if it has one). Sorry, too lazy to look it up.

Inside the Receiver there are electronic components mounted on the aluminum
heatsink ( Audio Output Power Transistors )
it may looks like these :
MN2488 ( Q753 )
and usually paired with MP1620 ( Q754 )
You may have to check on those two pairs of power transistors
and replace in pairs.
( which means if any of the two is bad , have them both replaced )
Check also the audio signal on the right channel input , if it
is on the same level of those of the left channel.
These components are available at:
