The 818 has been the most faithful (and receptive) SW I have had so far, but of late, I cannot power up. When pressing the red power button, I always get a FLASHING "E" on the screen. At first this was only with the AC cord attached. When I disconnected that, and used fresh batteries, it would power up for awhile, but then, I had the same problem, AC or DC, and now I have a useless 818.
Is this from a faulty power switch? Or possibly something else?
I think the E means a dead battery. You could have intermittent solder connection on your DC input jack. This could effect battery operation as well. Check for bad connections and resolder also look for broken traces at these connections. Good luck.

Hello, The problem you are having may be due to some configuration settings (such as a timer). Not dtecting the AM signal, may be due to interference from power lines. To improve AM reception (if there is something to improve) one should rotate the radio to orient the internal ferrite antenna. Using the radio close to a window can improve reception. To enable you to diagnose the problems that may be due to some configuration setting I give you the link to the radio's manual.
this is a sw boot up screen. this is what the screen will look like with no sw on the device, so you guessed it....the download was unsuccessful and corrupted the firmware.....if you tried to reinstall the sw again, and it does not work, you might need a new phone....contact t-mobile to do that.....OR, you can try to do a master reset by pressing the sw keys.
to do that, turn off the phone, and press and hold the soft keys (buttons located beneath the touch screen that have the lines on them on top of the green call button and the red end call button).....while holding these down, press the power button for 3 seconds and release the power button.....all this time you are holding those soft keys down....the phone SHOULD turn on and go to a black screen with white writing.....at this time you can relase the two buttons......press the green button and reset. if this does not work.....my friend, you need another one......good luck!

Press the power button again, shortly after the unit powers on, the lights flash, let go of the two buttons your holding. The screen shoul dnow say "Init EEPROM" if it doesn't repeat procedure till it does. Now press the green colour copy button once, screen should now say "Push power sw" Press and hold the power button, the unit will power off and on again, now release the power button and your printer should be working again. Now you should change your waste pads......
