NO POWER AT ALL

Hi
our tv set need to be serviced. Here are some tips:
1. Open main fuse. The fuse is clean but interrupted. You can try replacing it with one o the same value.
2. Fuse Blown or blackened. Short in the rectifier bridge or in the switching transistor. Out of the power supply: supply line rectifier (100/150V) shorted.

Big Screen RCA Tv Model #P60923BL or OM60923BL

bamones, it`s possible but not likely, remove AC cord from wall outlet, remove back from set and follow the AC cord where it goes into the set, fuse is right beside where the AC cord attatches to the board, if the glass is black you have a dead short in the power supply, if it`s open but not black then try replacing the fuse, amperage is marked on the silver metal end of the fuse, look for a number followed by the letter "A". Example;
5A 125V would be a five amp fuse rated at 125 volts, DO NOT replace with any other value, good luck, BMW Rider

61H70 Common Problems According To Local Repair Shop

No Startup = Check Q404 (2SC5570) and pico fuse F470 (2A)

Dead = Check Q801 (strz4369, 23135015) or replace QA02

Intermittent Reset = Add cotton tape and capacitor (0.47uf) across pin 54 of QA01 and GND (CA61 GND side)

Dead Relay Clicks = Replace zener D878 (9.1V)

HOT Fails Often = Replace C403 (22uf/100V)

Picture Fades Comes Back Blurry = Replace Q510 and Q221

When environment temperature rises above 95 grade F, television goes out of convergence and vertical slowly rises from bottom of screen = Connect capacitor (10pF/50V) between R4013 (Q421 collector) and R4012 (Q421 base). Add insulation tape underneath capacitor as necessary.

Intermittently no blue colour. Distorted lines in picture = Replace Q751 (STK392110)

Rolling picture. No convergence. Red foldover = Replace Q751 (STK392110) and R7726 (1.2R)

No picture. Audio and OSD OK = Check R243 and R244 (22K/0.16W)

Q510 replacement = 2 IC types have been alternately used as Q510.a) TA1316Nb) TA1316AN...The 2 types are not interchangable. When replacement of Q510 is necessary, the original type must be used. Do not use part number listed in the service manual. Use part numbers listed. Q510, type IC: TA1316N - Use P/N: 23000358 Q510, Type IC: TA1316An - Use P/N: 23000584

Dead & Power LED flashes = Check fuse F860 (4A) for O/C, Q801 (STR-Z4369), D862 (NTE552). Also check zener diodes D873 (27V), D875 (9.1V), D877 (27V) and D878 (9.1V).

Hope this helps...Unless you know exactly what is going wrong, sending the chassis to http://www.ptscorp.com would be my advice.

Emerson CR202EM9 is just dead. Tried to reset like discribed in the troubleshooting with no help. Is there a fuse or something that could effect power?

Hello
Surely there is a fuse inside it. Its rating will differ according to your househlod voltage. If it is 220VAC, the fuse for a 20" TV will be of about 3.5Amps, and if it is 110VAC, the fuse will be about 6Amps. Before replaceing the fuse, you just check for any short circuit inside the power supply reguator section of your TV. Without any reason fuse won't get burned. Just keep this in mind and open your Tv, and check the entire regulator section with the help of a multimeter, set in Ohms range, for any short is there or not. If there shows any short, get it repaired first and put the new fuse, otherwise the fuse you are going to insert will also get burned. Check it with patience. If you wants furthermore assistance, get me through Fixya. OK.

Main power button and remote will not turn on tv. It is plugged in and has 110. Worked last night but would not come on today.

The most common failure for these sets to go totally dead is the degaussing thermistor shorts out thus causing the A.C. fuse to open. The part number for the thermistor is D4DDF1R50001 and the fuse is part number XBA2A00101F... You can do a Google search for these parts. One you get the parts and look at the board where the A.C. cord connects to, the fuse and thermistor are not too far from that point. Its an easy fix if you have any soldering skills. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks...

Try the following:

NO POWER. NO RELAY CLICK 1. CHECK FOR 5 VDC AT PIN 9 OF IC700 (AC-OFF) IF MISSING CHECK PC901 PART # 268P058020, ON THE POWER PCB. NO POWER. RELAY CLICKS 1. CHECK Q501 (261P071010), Q502 (260P561020) AND Q503 (260P788010). IF ANY OF THESE TRANSISTORS ARE SHORTED OR LEAKY REPLACE IT INSURE THE FOLLOWING CIRCUIT CHANGE HAS BEEN DONE. REMOVE J58 FROM THE PCB-MAIN. USING AN INSULATED JUMPER WIRE, SOLDER A 22 OHM 1/4W RESISTOR BETWEEN PIN 4 OF THE RELAY K9A30 AND THE J58 HOLE NEXT TO PIN 1 OF CONNECTOR DQ. DRESS AND INSULATE THE JUMPER AND RESISTOR TO PROTECT AGAINST SHORT CIRCUITS. INSTALL A .01 UF 50V CERAMIC CAPACITOR BETWEEN THE COLLECTOR OF Q510 AND THE GROUND LEAD OF R502. Dead from cable surge from blown Time Warner splitter.

On that Sony the only glass fuse would be on the primary side where the A.C. cord enters the TV. If it's blown then you have a bad rectifier diode or some other shorted power supply component.
