Question about Samsung YP-U3 MP3 Player

1 Answer

USB disconnected My virus checker does not like the media player supplied with this MP3 Player. I keep getting the message that the software is an "Invader". However, that is not the main problem because I could download songs from Windows Media Player if my MP3 Player would connect. I can charge it up, no problem but it then goes from "Connecting" straight to "Disconnected" I have tried it on all 3 USB ports and checked the player is set to default settings. Any ideas how to keep the Player connected?

I have just found the solution to my own problem. I found an article in a computer magazine. The driver was not installed for the Player. I went to Device manager who detected the problem. After installing the Player's Installation CD when asked, Windows Device Manager found the Driver and fixed the problem.

Disable your AntiV and check to see if your USB ports are open and your firewalls.

rcaeasyrip_setup file to launch the installer.
• The software installer can be deleted from the player after installation to free up more storage spaces.

My Player infected with New Folder.exe virus

All you can really do is perform a Repair in the Philips Device Manager - if it fails, you can call Philips and see if you are still in-warranty:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

I received a pearl mp3 player from a friend 2 weeks ago

Your questions are too numerous to answer in one post without resorting to my short answer - go to www.rcapearl.com and download the manual, load the installation software, etc.

The "USB Connected" message is normal - the other functions are only usable once the player is DISconnected from the computer.

Unplug your mp3 player from computer. Uninstall the software that came with your mp3 player. Reinstall the software. Then and only then reconnect your mp3 player to the computer. Try again.

My mp3 player keeps disconnecting.

I had the same problem with my daughter's mp3 player, here is how I was able to fix it:

1. download the firmware software from here
2. unzip & install the software from step 1.
3. remove the battery from your mp3 player
4. start the software
5. hold down the play/pause button while attaching the mp3 player (via usb cable) to your computer
6. once the software's button labeled "start" is activated you can set down the mp3 player (you don't need to hold the play/pause button anymore).
7. check the box to format your data area (this will remove the mp3s, but is needed to get this to work properly again)
8. Click start and follow the on screen instructions

This worked for me... also, make sure your directory names + filenames are not overly long as this seems to be part of what is causing this problem.
