Click the Tools tab, then click Check Now under Error Checking. You can then select the option to automatically recover bad sectors and repair errors before the actual process is started.

My Acer Aspire 1 gets stuck when the Windows XP logo apears and just keeps booting, what can I do?

Hard Drive error on the Disk most likely... Try to go to Windows "Safe Mode"... pressing F5 before you see the XP Logo and after you see the system information screens. Once in safe mode... run ScanDisk.
Open My Computer | Right Click C Drive | Left Click Properties | Tools Tab Run Check Disk for Errors... also check mark both boxes.
Reboot

Line 0 of hivesft.inf is not formating the hard drive and it stop

Oy, this sounds like a bad sector where a nessicary file for your computer's well being was.
Well, if you can, you can "attempt" to go into safe mode. Press F8 on bootup repeatedly and select enter safe mode, then go into system restore (if it doesn't prompt you to) and choose a date at least 5 days back, if that works, then immediately after do a full scan of your hard drive (right clicking on C:, properties then selecting the approriate Scandisk tool and check to automatically fix errors (it'll need to reboot).

Either that or
You can boot via the vista disk and copy the file you need to your harddrive, you will need to use the xcopy command. However, since I'm fairly unfamiliar with vista (I hate it to put it untechnically.) you'll have to contact Toshiba tech support to talk about where the file will need to go, but it really isn't too tough.
Finally, if all else fails, you'll need to take that hard drive out of the laptop (usually some screws on the bottom just hold it in, once they're undone the whole hard drive can slide out,), buy an enclosure for it(20 dollars at most computer retailers, be sure to bring the drive with you to ask them which you need), plug it into another computer, attempt to salvage all the data you want to keep, then, right click the drive, select format, and do a complete format.
Then, pop it back into your laptop, boot using the Vista dvd, and reinstall the operating system.
It's a pain I know, but sometimes if the disk is that corrupt that it can't even boot it needs to be done. Consider scanning the drive again afterwards, and looking at the results of the scan, if the bad sector count is in the thousands (and bigger than just a few megabytes) then it's time for a new drive anyways.

Hope this helps, stay spicy and have fun lappying :)
