SOURCE: Sandisk sansa e200

I had this same problem on my sansa and tryed the previous solution with no luck. Out of frustration i email the sansa technical support. Try these steps to format the player: -Turn on the player and access MENU > SETTINGS > USB > MSC - Once the player is set to MSC mode, reconnect it to the computer and open the My Computer window. - Once you see the Sansa icon in the My Computer window, right-click it and choose FORMAT - In the Format window, choose FAT 32 and make sure that Quick Format is NOT selected, then choose START -Once the format has completed, disconnect the player from the computer to allow it to refresh. If you plan on using Windows Media Player to transfer files, return to the USB menu and set the player to MTP mode. Otherwise, leave the player in MSC mode and you can now resume transferring files. Formatting your player will deleate all files but you can putt them back on!!! Best of luck!

SOURCE: MY Philips HDD1630 MP3 MEMORY APPEARS FULL WHEN THERE ARE NO FILES ON IT

Go to my computer open the Philips icon till you get to the music file delete it. Unplug the player from the usb cable and then reattach it. It will then show a new music file and 5.7 space available. All of your music will be gone.........but it was gone anyway. Ideally you should go to Philips and download the HDD1630/17b software and firmware and print off the instructions and redo your player. I did and it works great!!!!!

Media player wont play files

When you connect the MP3 player to your computer with the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as an external storage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder on your MP3 player. Open the music folder and create a new folder on the player exactly the same way you create a folder on your computer's hard drive. To organise your music, make a folder name with the name of the music album and place the album's MP3 files in this folder, then copy the mp3 files from the computer into this folder.
You will then be able to select the music you want to play by the music album folder. To delete a file from your MP3 player, connect the supplied USB cable to your player and then plug it into the USB port of your computer.
The computer will detect your player then click on this device to view the files, you can then click on the music file to highlight the file and then press the Del key to delete the file off your MP3 player. Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine the type of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI and WMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is an incompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to a format that your MP3 player uses. After video conversion then copy the video files to your MP3 player using the USB cable from your computer. 2gb Sansa Fuze won't recognize 2gb Micro SD

place the blank card into the SanDisk player
go to SETTINGS press "enter"
go to SYSTEM SETTINGS press "enter
go to FORMAT press "enter"
it will ask "are you sure you want to format this device"?
select YES

dowload songs to REMOVABLE DISK drive F, at least that is what my PC assigned it to. You will overload your MP3 PLAYER if you continue to download to the Sanza Drive.

Hope this helps.
