Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer

4 Answers

No paper feed Canon ink jet printer won't feed paper and Alarm light comes on. The message is Service Code 6000, which is not a code in my manual. Anyone know what I should try? I have tried loading and unloading, unplugging and replugging, resetting, and even turning it upside down and blowing out the dust. The problem doesn't go away. I cannot find a jam. Puzzled

Try first unplugging power cord for five minutes, sometimes this can reset the error code.

The rollers and gears are wearing out, it will require service if you want it fixed but the price of a new printer would be much cheaper.

Need trouble code for selphy ds810 trouble code is 6000 or where can i get all of them

Error 6000 is a paper feed error, something may be inside stopping the feed rollers from turning, otherwise it could be ink on the paper feed sensors. If you can't see something inside like a paper clip or something else that doesn't belong, I would reccomend shop repair.

Canon Pixma 210 series has an error code 6000, won't print or scan

Hope this helps
With thanks to a canon tech
Ok Well again I will repeat this answer with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

When the printer is turned on the following message occurs - 6000

The error code: 6000 is explained in the service manual as "Paper feed error".

It could be a sensor issue or something that's fallen down/into the printer that's jamming rollers or similar.

I'd check for any paper jams, foreign objects in the rear paper feed, etc..

Given that you have a MP540 I'm guessing it may still be in warranty so if that doesn't solve it I'd recommend taking it back to your retailer and getting it resolved.

Can I ask if this has done this since purchase or just started doing it?

Service error 6000

i have canon pixma ip1200, and I encountered the same problem with yours..SERVICE ERROR 6000, i tried to do a lot of things in my printer, i tried to Turn it on and off but it doesn't fix my problem, then I read that error came from, paper feed and roller..then i tried to pull and roll the soft plastic of the roller at the left side of the printer (if you're facing the printer, make sure the printer is off) then i notice that something's blocking the roller and then i turned the printer on and that's it..it works again, so far i've encountered the problem 2 times and i did the same procedure at the second time i encountered the problem.. I hope this will HELP you..;-)
