Hi there,

The game John Deere American Farmer is designed to be used with Windows ME, 2000 or XP, therefore in order to use it in Vista you must run your game using Compatinity Mode --> Install your game--> Go to your Desktop --> Right click on the program icon--> properties-->Compatibility--> select one of the versions above
I hope this helps
Please take a moment to accept and rate my solution accordingly

You are may need to use compatibility mode for this program. It was originally intended for use on windows 98/Me/2000 and XP. To set compatibility mode to any of those operating systems, right click on the American Greeting shortcut (the icon you click to start the program) and select "properties". Now look for the "Compatibility" tab and click on the check box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and in the drop down box, select "Windows XP (Service pack 2)" Or, "windows XP (Service pack 3). If there is no service pack options for windows xp, that's fine. After you made your selection, press ok. If the program works, you're set. If not, go back and change the compatibility mode operating system to another choice such as "Windows 98" or "Windows 2000". Try each one and see what works for you.

My Art Explosion Greeting Card Deluxe Factory 2 software will not work on my Toshiba Satellite A200 laptop. I am using Windows Vista. Please can you advise?

Unfortunately the Windows OS has changed significantly since that software was released. Nova Developement now has the Greeting Card Factory Deluxe version 8 for XP/Vista/7.

If you have the 64-bit Vista, you may not be able to get the old software to work and need the upgrade or a virtual computer with an older Windows OS (see below). To check your OS version, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System .

You can try running the program in the compatibility mode - this will work best with software for XP not Win95-NT. Right click on the installer and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and choose Run this program as compatible with (an older version of Windows). Click on the check box and use the drop-down menu to select the older OS. Save the change by clicking apply then close the window. Right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator.

If the program installs, do the same compatibility steps for the program's exe file itself. (You don't need to run as administrator though.)

Alternatively, you can run a dual boot or virtual computer with an older Windows OS. (Programs like Virtual PC, Parallels and VMWare let you run a virtual computer inside the Vista system with a computer that can handle virtualization.) Unfortunately, you usually need a licensed version of Windows to do this. (Win7 Pro and Ultimate let you do this free with Virtual PC and XP mode.) Then install the software normally in the virtual computer or when booted into the older version of Windows. File transfer can be tricky with the virtual computer - you need to save files to external media (flash drive or optical disc). Printers can't be installed on both the real and virtual computer at the same time.

I hope this helps.

My computer that has PSW2.0 crashed. It had Windows XP. I have a new HP computer with Windows 7. What do I have to do to make it work on my new computer?

From Singerco.com FAQs: Q. My computer only has USB ports. Can you recommend a Serial (nine pin) to USB converter cable that will work with the Professional Sew Ware™ 2.00a? A. We have found that the PSW works best on newer computers when the USB serial adapter cable has not only compatible drivers for the Windows operating system but also a FTDI chip. We have found this FTDI chip in the cable which is listed below:
CUSB-232A available from Computerplug.com and Cablesalesusa.com.
Any USB to serial adapter with an FTDI chip will work. These cables will work for Windows XP, VISTA, and 7.

This is a Windows 98 program. Try installing it using the compatibility feature of WIN7. Right click on the startup program on the CD, select install as administrator, right click again and select properties, install as W98 compatible.
This might work but some of these older programs just won't work with Vista or Win7. I didn't find any updated spiritual expressions software. It looks like it is no longer made.
Also you didn't say if you're running 32bit or 64bit Win7. Be aware that 64bit does not support 16bit programs. Given the age of spiritual expressions, it is probably 16bit code. No way will it run on a 64bit OS. My above suggestion will only work with 32bit Win7.

No it looks like they stopped the support at the old one, this means they did'nt make any drivers for the old one to function on vista.
Vista uses a very diferent driver model than xp does.
The drivers for xp won't work in any way on vista.

Tony;

You could restore they system when it was working fine, by using the 'System Restore' Tool that Microsoft provides in the OS.

To perform System Restore, you must be logged on to Windows as an administrator. If this is your personal computer, you are likely already logged on with an administrator account.

To use System Restore to restore Windows XP to a previous state, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point (or the date you know when solitaire was working fine) in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
  7. Click OK.
If you successfully restored your computer to a previous state, and the computer is performing as it should be, you are finished.

I hope this helped! If you need further assistance on how this process is done I will be more then happy to walk you through. Just let me know.

Scooby Doo Case File #1 The glowing bug man - Reinstall problem

I expect youre running Vista or Windows 7. Exact same problem here.
The only way round this is to play the game on a PC running XP.
Even using VMWare virtual machines doesnt work ( the game runs, but is windowed and the cutscenes only display a plain green screen )

So, unfortunately, you`ll have to wipe your PC and install XP or make it dual boot with Vista AND XP - a large task for one small game.
I doubt the programmers will release a fix as the game is over 5 years old now.

Cosmic games (Frog Frenzy 2)

Frog Frenzy 2 is a game that requires semi decent support from your graphics card, ram, and processor. Since I don't really know the specs of your computer, I cant be positive what the problem is. it could be that your computer can't support the game enough, or that you have malware on your computer.

My suggestion is that you do a virus scan to begin with, and eliminate that as a possibility. if that doesn't work then try to change the setting of the game, so that it is not so demanding on your comp. if that doesn't work than you may need to upgrade your setup.

I hope that this helped!
