Let me ask you one question. Are either of you having any problems as far as performance with your dryers? If not, do you still have your owner's manual that came with the dryer? There is a possibility that an extra was inside, all this time; and worked its way into the tumbler. I have known on occasion where there is a factory defect causing the wear to happen much more quickly so an extra part, in this instance an extra belt; would be given inside the owner's manual or the dryer cabinet itself. I'd check my manual first. Then, if I wasn't having any problems I wouldn't look for any. Neither of you mentioned any problems with the way the dryer worked or sounded. On the one with 2 wks. over warranty, I would at least contact the place where it was purchased if you ARE having a problem. If they are reputatable, Hoover is good about honoring their warranties within a few days. The store may take care of it, if they want your business again. Good luck to both of you. It'll be OK. Get back with me if there is a problem you didn't mention, OK? Keep smiling & have a Good One.

My hoover six express 1300 washer/dryer The belts slipping and today the drum was struggling to go all the way rould and i see a spark come from undernith machine is that cuz it needs a belt

The felt glides have probably worn through at some point which will require removing the drum and replacing, preferably, the belt and all of the felt glides front and back.

I changed the belt, it sounds like it works now but drum does not roll????

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Things to check..

1. Belt and ilder pulley properly positioned?
Use this link to make sure you have it correct:
http://www.repairclinic.com/Dryer-Belt-Diagrams

2. Make sure the drum felt seals are not rolled / folded over. If it is folded / rolled slide the shanke of a screwdriver under the felt and rotate the drum 360 deg until it straightens out. (Front and rear seals.)

3. Make sure the drum rollers are resting in the drum groove and not behind the drum

These manuals will be a big help: (page 25)

My beko condenser tumble dryer is drying fine but is making a loud scraping noise. When I took out the clothes there was a strip of white felt in the washing

Looks daunting to start with but just done mine,
remove top and all rear covers and rear panel after removing drum split washer, pump hoses, belt and elec connection, remove the drum and you will see where the felt seal goes. i had some felt i cut to 12mm wide and siliconed it in place, left to dry for 6 hrs, now runs fine.

The felt/cloth seal on the back of the interior of the dryer has come out. It is a large circular "belt/seal". How do i reattach?

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS

If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum, felt seal and belt. You now can repair/replace the felt seal, but I would advise that you go a little farther and maybe save some problems in the future.
Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in.

We have a problem with our frigidaire dryer FEQB4000FS0 snaps, zippers and buttons are getting caught in the gap between ther inside of the dryer and the drum, as a result all the clothes are getting...

Sounds like the felt seal is missing, shifted, or broken.
The felt seal is what keeps the zippers, buttons, etc from catching in the door and causing problems.
If you plan to do the repairs yourself, then make sure you unplug the dryer before starting any repairs.
Remove the electrical box that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum and felt seal.
You can now inspect the seal to see if it is faulty. Replace it if it is needed.
If you remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

The felt seal on my Hoover HNC175 tumble dryer come off.

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.

Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum, and the felt seal.
You may be able to replace the felt seal at this time, or you may have to buy a new one and install it.
I would also recommend that you do the following while you have gone this far.
Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Be sure to pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy later when you go to reinstall the belt and drum

Frigidaire electric dryer catches clothes at the edge of the drum

If the clothes catch on the drum edge the felt seal is worn out , and the squeak could be the bearing the drum rest on or the belt tentioner , it may need oiled , you can buy the felt seal replacement kits online and they are not hard to install.
Hope this helps.

Fitting the belt to the hoover 5050ed

nope,, but
all dryers are generically the same
remove the front panel and door
pull the drum
loop the belt around the drum, at apporximately the wear marks of the old belt
reinsert the drum
loop the belt around the motor pulley
pull the tensioner pulley hard against the spring to the end of its travel
loop the belt around the tensioner pulley
allow the tensioner to move back under spring pressure to tension the belt
rotate the drum by hand to make sure the belt is aligned and not coing to jump off the pulleys
reinstall front panel & door
26740a0.jpg the tensioner may be on the bottom belt run pusshing up, or the top run pulling down
breaking belts sometimes pull the tensioner out of its mounts, there is only one place that the tensioner will reinstall.

Its a standard whirpool dryer, rebadged as hoover, so the local parts guy has the belts rollers felts and glides as necessary, they are common to all the dryers whirlpool makes.

Kenmore Series 80 Dryer. Heats doesn't spin clothing. Imagine its a belt or spin motor. Need a schematic

No need for a schematic, there are two kenmore dryer belts, 'full size' or 'apartment size', if it is a belt you will be able to here the motor racing unloaded, turn heat to cold before testing, dont want to blow a thermal fuse.

Kenmore dryer comes apart from the front,
  • UNPLUG dryer 220V is not fun
  • remove the lint screen
  • remove the screws under the lint screen holding the case top to the screen holder
  • with a putty knife or other blunt blade release the catches at the front corners of the top and raise top
  • remove screws holding front of case on, from inside the dryer
  • remove door switch cables
  • lift front of case off and set aside,
  • can reach motor, belt, felts and rollers.
  • broken belt will be obvious, lying on the floor
If belt is broken, examine rollers and felt bearings for wear, stuck rollers or no felt left, is the most common cause of belts breaking, extra tension is required to spin the drum, If damaged replace them, they are cheap and easy to do, and it woud be no fun if another belt broke quickly

reasemble after repair in reverse order.
