Make sure the black lever on the right of the printhammer is all the way forward.
if it still doesn't work, it will need a trip to the repair shop, or just look for a cheap replacement at a thrift shop.

I am working on a little project to use the print mechanism from a brother typewriter (ML-100). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find service manuals anywhere for this typewriter. My current q

I found a small piece of plastic caught under neath the carriage
of my Brother GX-6750 Electronic Typewriter. The piece looks as if it slipped onto some type of small end cylindrical peg one sixteenth long and one thirty-seconds in diameter. The piece has a lip where it latches on to something and the other end is flat with a tiny edged lip. The middle piece is where some peg goes into it and the piece is one piece. The carriage works improperly and fails to type. The hammer mechanism won't move forward on it's pivot to punch the daisy wheel. When the keys get punched, nothing happens. I just bought the GX-6750
through ebay and it arrived that way today. I'm looking for suggestions to get it fully operable.

My typewriter (Brother GX-6750) does not print correct letters

look for bent or broken spokes on daisy wheel .turning unit off for 20 seconds and back on should reset the daisy wheel home position. probably the daisy wheel.

have you tried chaging the daisy wheel with a known good one? If yes, have you checked to see if the hammer is in a good condition?

1 - Is the dailsy whell properly installed ? (Has the lever been pressed firmnly ?) is the correct daisy wheel installed?
2 - Have you run out of ribbon ?
3 - Have you pressed the 'spider web' key with + // keys after replacing cassette ribbon, correction tape or daisy wheel?

I have the instruction manual if that helps..

Pleas feel free to advise your email, and I will gladly forward :

Brother GX-6750 Daisy Wheel

Install wheel, turn machine on and off this resets the printer and home timing. If it still does not correctly, adjustments needed..

Cannot get daisy wheel to type correct letters

Turn oFF the typewriter, take the ribbon out.....use the lever on top to release and remove the print wheel cartridge. Lightly rotate it to see if it will move and reinsert the cartridge. snap it back into place.
Turn on the machine, the typewriter should move the carrier to the left and reset the printwheel....if it is snapped back properly.
