Tks, butI have the PC133 512MB (PA3108U-1M51) model. It doesn't work. My BIOS is 1.4 version and I think in upgrading it to the latest one 1.6, Maybe this way the RAM will work. I have to mention that I also have problems in restarting the laptop, it doesn;t work with this version of BIOS.

I am afraid I cannot do the BIOS upgrade from windows cause I use Linux-Ubuntu 8.10 (that's why I really need at least 512Mb RAM:)). But I can do it from a CD. It is risky but what can I do, installing windows? Never :)) Tks

I looked for and there is no bios upgrade for toshiba sp6000 on debian, or at least I couldn't find it :)). I am a little bit afraid to do the upgrade from the CD but I will try it :)). If somebody knows a link from a debian site that has the Toshiba SP6000 bios upgrade please let me know. Tks.

Hi

You need these modules:
PC133 512MB (PA3108U-1M51)
PC133 256MB (PA3086U-1M25)
PC133 128MB (PA3085U-1M12)

Furthermore you can upgrade the memory to max 1024 MB

hope this helps

yes it would seem you are right, a bios flash would be the only option to hand. the safest way to flash the bios is to download the .exe file that you can run in windows, doing it from floppy is risky

debian might have it on their site, its worth a look

    good luck m8

Maximum TOTAL Amount is 2GigaByte. (2GB)
Maximum Amount for EACH ram memory slot is 1GB.

IF, you only have ONE ram memory module ('Stick'), it goes in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)
That is the ram memory slot closest to the processor socket.
The Processor reads ram memory Slot 1 first.

IBM T23 wont turn on after adding new RAM

Hi - according to memory suppliers your T23 has the following memory capacity / requirements:

  • IBM ThinkPad T23 maximum RAM capacity: 1GB
  • Your IBM has Two (2) memory slots or sockets
  • Module upgrade PIN count is: 144-PIN
  • The memory speed is: SDRAM 133MHz, PC133
  • The laptop DIMM type for the ThinkPad T23 is: SODIMM, SO-DIMM, Small Outline DIMM
  • Non ECC

If you are meeting these requirements, you may have a defective module.

Also, according to Lenovo's page on the machine:

Memory
The system has 128MB or 256MB of memory standard and can be configured for up to 1GB of addressable memory. Memory options up to 512MB SDRAM SO DIMMs each can be added in the two available slots for memory expansion. The standard 128MB of memory is expandable up to 640MB and the 256MB of memory is expandable up to 768 MB of addressable memory with 64, 128, 256, or 512MB SO DIMMs without removing the 128MB SO DIMM that is standard in one of the internal slots for memory. For customers that need the maximum 1GB to which memory can be expanded, it is necessary to replace the 128MB or 256MB card with a 512MB card plus add another 512MB card in the extra slot. Only 133MHz DIMM memory can be used in this system. The use of 100MHz DIMM memory is not supported in the T23 systems.

This means yo can trouble shoot the 512MB modules individually by installing one of the original 128MB modules and one of the new 512MB modules (for a total system memory of 640MB). If it does not boot, try again with the other 512MB module. This will help you identify a defective module that may be preventing the machine from booting.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Toshiba sp6000 512mb sdr 133mhz chips

These are the memory modules for your notebook, any others won't work. The max is 1024mb

You need these modules:
PC133 512MB (PA3108U-1M51)
PC133 256MB (PA3086U-1M25)
PC133 128MB (PA3085U-1M12)

If the modules you've installed meet the above criteria then make sure they are seated correctly.

Bear in mind it is always possible one of the modules is defective so try them one at a time, also they are non-eec.

Check that your memory is supported, according to Biostar documentation for your motherboard:

Single Channel Mode DDR2 Memory
Registered DIMM and ECC DIMM is not supported

Re-check the memory module's specifications.

I have 512 sd ram but i another 128,128 sd ram do included but its not working how can i solves this problem

The D815EEA2 motherboard only supports 512MB RAM maximum - I'm afraid there is no way to add more to it.

From Intel's description of the model:
Intel 815 Memory: Three 133MHz SDRAM DIMM sockets. Supports a maximum 512MB of 133MHz SDRAM

My G4 466 graphite won't see my low density 512mb sdram stick!

As long as the 512MB RAM chip is running at 133Mhz it should work, it may have compatibility issues with the other RAM in the unit. Try removing the other RAM first if it does not work after that you probably have a faulty piece of memory.

Compaq M700 Ram Upgrade the second

i can find no spec on this but,if your notebook can take upt 576MB of memory, i would expect 2 x 256MB to be the max, as installing 1 x 512MB would be doubling the capacity allowed by one module slot.
