Question about Canon BJC S300 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HELP! My printers light keeps blinking from green to orange. It will not reset. I tried removing the printer and reinstalling it. The computer says that everything is okay and installed correctly, but nothing happens. Light still blinks. Nothing will print from any promt. No wordpad, wordperfect, print-screen, nothing. Is it something physically wrong with the printer?

Power light flashes Gr - Or-Or-Or-Or-Or-Or-Or - Gr. Have tried some  of the manual resets to no avail.

It blinks orange 7 times, then it goes steady green for a few seconds and repeats the orange pattern

The light is flashing green orange back and forth. Nothing prints and the computer says the printer is off line but it is plugged in.

Hi taximom, Is the light alternating back and forth between green and orange (GR OR GR OR GR OR GR)? Or is there a pattern like (GR OR OR OR GR OR OR OR GR) or (GR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR GR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR GR) If it the first case (alternate back and forth) then I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it needs service. (and it's probably not worth fixing) If there is a pattern to the blinking let me know exactly how many times it goes orange and I can tell you what to do from there. The Dude

My canon ir 5180 blinks only d green light but d screen does not open

Start with the printer OFF:

1. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
2. release RESUME
3. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
4. Let green light blink until printer is done futzing

Select function with RESUME press POWER to execute:

presses - light color - function

0 - green - Pressing power button will turn off printer
1 - orange - Service Test Print
2 - green - EEPROM Information Print
3 - orange - Initialize EEprom data
4 - green - Reset Waste ink Counter
5 - orange - Mode to set Destination code
(1: Overseas, 2: Domestic)
6 - green - Refresh printhead (cleaning mode)

I assume the printhead is cleaning and you need to wait for it to finish cleaning. That could take over a minute and a half; I don't know what that delay is for your printer.

If that is not the issue, you may have to reset the printer. This may be possible as follows:
  1. Hold down HELP + OK button and unplug printer (could experiment with regular power-off, but I opted for brute force)
  2. Hold down HELP + OK button again as you plug the printer back in. Then power it on, if it doesn't power on automatically. Be Safe: keep holding the buttons until the printer turns itself off. (It took mine less than a minute.)
  3. Release the buttons and simply power it back on. (If you unplug it without powering it down, you may get an improper shutdown error message. If so, click OK on the printer.)
If you are looking at a blank computer screen after all of this, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

If this does not fix the problem, you better look into troubleshooting on the manufacturer's site for help for your particular printer.

When I turn my IP 3000 on the green light only blink 9 time no orange light at all I did try to reset no sucess as the green light keep blinking 9 time any help

9 flashes should only occur if you are trying to print directly from a non-compatible digital camera. Check where your USB cable is plugged into the printer. The cable coming from the computer should go into a 'square' port in the back of the printer -- not the rectangular port on the lower right side of the front of the printer.

Orange blinking light

you may want to try the following links:
http://support-qa.lex.lexmark.com:8510/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:111:0:0&docid=enus27252. Look at the "Blinking Orange" Scenario applicable to your issue.

You may also need to run the wireless configuration utility, here's a link on how to do that. You will need to ensure that your computer is able to communicate with your router.

http://support-qa.lex.lexmark.com:8510/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:111:0:0&docid=enus27234

Let me know if this still doesn't work.

HELP!

hi, the blinking is caused by a fault in the printer, means it needs to be serviced, its usually more expensive for them to fix it than buying a new one, but you can get there number off the canon website.

Happy New Year
