Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White
After self cleaning bake does not work but tried broil is working. I am thinking that the bake element is not working.
my oven model # CFEF372CB2 i am looking for a reset switch and can'tfind anything on the back. I am thinking that maybe temp has gottenexceded. the broil element works because when u turn it on there is 2settings hi and low, so that has nothing to do with temp only voltage.the surface elements work and everything else is fine no error codescoming up. also i was wondering about and error codes i am not getting any, andwant to maybe generate a error code if possible for further help thxsagain
to ensure the element isn't bad, you can take an ohm meter to the contacts
of it and measure the resistance. It should be around 20 ohms. If it is
much greater or infinite, the element is bad. To get to the contacts
you will need to unplug the oven, pull it away from the wall and remove
the rear panel. Then disconnect the element wiring and touch the probes
from the meter to the contacts on the element. Otherwise, usually, the temp sensor is bad if the broiler still works, this is a small pencil shaped rod on the inside top of the oven. You can test it the same way and it again should be around 20 ohms. You can order a new
parts locally or from repairclinic.com. Let me know what you find.

Hello kimberlymaso - If you are referring to the bake element, but the broil element works then you would need to just replace the bake element. If both your bake and broil element does not work, then there might be a problem with the wiring communication. However, if the oven does not bake and/or broil but the cook top works; contact a professional to diagnose the EOC (electronic oven control).
