I don't know if the keyboard is salvageable or not. I do know that the keyboard can be replaced and taken out. As long as nothing else is malfunctioning, the computer is fine. Heres a link that will show you how to take the computer apart.

Hope this helps.

Your Keyboard is most likely to be screwed. A drop of coffee is enough to damage it. You will have to replace the keyboard. cleaning will work onlly if something is obstructing you from pressing the keys.

Toshiba satellite cursor frozen to one spot how do I :unlock/unfreeze the cursor (happened after cat walked across the keyboard

The touch screen don't work ? Do you use an external mouse ? Did you replace the external mouse if you have one?
1st gingerly, and softly pass your hand across the entire keyboard from left to right, then right to left touching ALL keys [[ ALL]] . go up and down the keyboard .
2nd take the eraser of the pencil and gently TAP all keys to UNstick any key that could be shorted out. If that don't work, get back to me so that I can show you how to use a WORD PROCESSOR to find your problem.

Keyboard

Hi, "I suggest that you try reconfiguring the way the Keyboard functions. Click on the Start button, in the [Start Search Window] type: keyboards; the "Keyboard" will appear in the shortcut menu. Next, select to open, make all the changes to your specifications, "Apply and OK" all changes. After you are finished, Restart the Computer. If this helped; let me know by giving a "helpful rating," thanks.

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. nboulikas@gmail.com for any additional questions.

Keyboard problems

I had a similar problem but it would also intermittently not recognize certain keystrokes like the shift key or a few letters. I pulled the keyboard off and blew it out with canned air, then reseated the micro ribbon cable to the motherboard and it hasn't failed since. Good luck
